About Sandy
This charming little pup is Sandy, a Cattle Dog born 6 February 2024. She's part of a litter with 8 who came to us for care.
Cattle dogs are a loyal and intelligent dogs and we are sure she will become a much loved family member in no time!
Sandy is currently in foster care with 4 other dogs (mixed breeds and sizes), 3 cats and 2 horses. Sandy loves nothing more than playing with her foster siblings (especially the border collie with whom she has bonded with). She loves cuddles from her foster Mum and will happily be a couch potato after a good, solid walk or play. Sandy is respectful with cats but can get over excited with a new introduction.
Sandy has learnt her basic commands but will still need to continue her training being such a young pup. Recall is something her foster Mum is working on but she is happy to respond to a ball for recall, if needed. Sandy is well mannered on the lead but will get a little excited first off but once she is off, she is happy to just walk along with just her foster parent or foster siblings. Sleeping in a crate has also been a part of Sandy's training and she is adjusting well.
Sandy currently lives on acreage but ventures into town once a week with her foster Mum for coffee or lunch and is well adjusted to sitting/laying calmly in cafes. She is very social and loves travelling in the car.
She would suit an active family with any sized children and would fit into pretty much any lifestyle as long as she is active on a daily basis.
This pup will grow into a medium sized dog and given their breeding, will require plenty of opportunities for enrichment and space to play. Secure fencing is a must as always, and having a companion around for most of the day will be highly regarded.
If you are interested in meeting this lovely pup and can offer a suitable, safe and loving forever home, PLEASE COMPLETE THE ONLINE ADOPTION APPLICATION at https://southerndownsark.com.au/apply-to-adopt/ and one of our volunteers will be in touch.
