Winston

I am trying a new home to see if i like it. Winston is totally fabulous!! he is playful, intelligent, active, affectionate and loving and may be a border collie x but he is showing himself to be very typical of the border collie breed. Winston is an energetic, super smart boy who loves learning new tricks almost as much as he loves snuggles. Winston is being raised as a house puppy with access to outdoors for toileting and his house training is progressing very quickly. His ideal home will be with experienced dog owners who live on either small, fenced acreage or who have a very large fenced yard in which he can run around before coming indoors to settle down. Winston would do best with the companionship of another dog in his new home to keep him company during those times his humans are otherwise occupied. Being active and very quick to learn, winston is ideally suited to people who are keen to attend obedience, agility, frisbee, flyball or any of the many fun activities that dogs can participate in. At the very minimum winston must attend puppy preschool with his new family and hopefully continue on to 'big' dog training as it is essential his busy mind is kept stimulated and focused. Winston's coat requires regular brushing to keep him knot free and looking like the handsome boy that he is. Footnote 4 april: winston is another puppy who found himself for sale in a pet shop in the hills district of sydney. It seems that winston had "outgrown his container" within the pet shop and the person buying him from this store was told that if she didn't buy him he would be taken to the pound! winston's price was discounted from $899 to $299 and, by their own admission, he was an impulse buy on the part of the people who surrendered him to paws for rehoming. They are decent people who believed what they had been told and that winston would be taken to the pound and then euthanised. We can only hope that it was an idle threat by the sales person at the pet shop in order to "get rid of the puppy that was now too large for sale". Paws contacted the pound that is local to the pet shop to alert them to the fact that puppies coming into their pound could be coming from this particular store and it was duly noted!
