Hi friends! My name is Quince. At just 10 weeks old, my breeder dumped my litter and I and we ended up on death row at the local council pound. Thankfully, the pound works closely with Off The Chain K9 Rescue Qld and so we all reached safety!
Since coming into care with my siblings, I've been a pleasure to care for; my foster carer has worked hard on giving me a great start to life. I like to spend my days exploring the yard, napping and wrestling with my furry foster siblings. I'm a playful and adventurous one, though it can take me a little to feel confident in a new environment. Once you've earned my trust though, I am super friendly and loyal! I get along great with the adult dogs here (medium size males and females) and I am working on my crate training. My crate is becoming my safe space and if my new family is up for it, I'd love for crate or place training to be continued. As well as my furry foster siblings, I also live with horses and guinea fowl, and get along with them all great!
I'm quickly learning the ropes and have been exposed to many new things since being in care such as baths, car rides, and vet trips. My foster humans are teaching me lots including basic training, manners and how to sleep through the night in the crate. I'd love to be part of a family that will continue to improve my manners and basic training so I can continue to be the goodest boy. I would love to get out for an adventure 3-4 times a week, to run sniff and roll and go on daily walks/runs with you! Myself and siblings are a bit of a mixed breed; our mum looked very cattle dog however my litter also has a mix of kelpie, arab and staffy in there...unfortunately because our breeders aren't the most responsible people, we aren't entirely sure of my breed mix but I can tell you that I am likely to grow around 20-25kg as an adult, and that I'm a medium energy level boy, and have a heart of gold! I appear to be blessed with being the shorter and smaller one of the litter but someone has to be.
I would like to be behind a 5ft fence or higher so that as I grow, I am not tempted to escape the yard. Being a young dog, I am going to grow up however you allow me to- so it's important to spend your early weeks with me getting my routine and training down-pat. I am a smart pup who is a keen learner and will make you very happy! I am used to living with other dogs but I am young and adaptable. If you want me to be a single dog, I will need an experienced owner who won't bail at the first hiccup we go through together; change is hard for us all, especially a growing pup learning a whole new life! I want an owner/family I can really bond with and trust, and in return I will give a life time of loyalty, fun and affection.
So let's do this! Apply to adopt me now- there's a reason you've read this far, I could be the one for you!
Ps- unsure about my name? Well, feel free to change it if you adopt me (most dogs learn new names fast)

Adoption details
Before applying, please consider and finalise the following: real estate approval, fence repair if needed, outside shelter areas and look into the dog's breed dietary requirements eg large breed vs medium breed.
Apply here after reading below:- Adoption Application: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/OTCadoptionapp
Once you are ready to adopt, please complete the OTC Adoption Application questionnaire below. This is not a contract or agreement of any kind, just an expression of interest in the animal. We will not authorise meets unless this has been completed and only approved applications may meet the dogs. Once you are approved and have submitted all relevant information, we will organise for you to meet the dog at your home or in a public place. If you have other animals they should please be at the meet.
If at the meet, you and the dog get along- you have the option of either taking the dog on the spot (in exchange for the full adoption fee paid upfront, and contract signed)- or placing the dog on hold for up to 2 days without any holding fee applicable. When adoption begins you will be provided with 7 days worth of food for the dog, as well as what brand and type of food it is, so that you may change their diet carefully and slowly, or purchase more, if needed.
*PLEASE NOTE we do not hold dogs for 3 days or longer, without a non-refundable holding deposit of $100. If you are unwilling to put a deposit on the dog, we will continue to advertise and speak with other potential adopters and so you may miss out. We have had to make the deposit non refundable to avoid time-wasters, especially when it comes to puppies under 5 months of age. The $100 holding deposit is then subtracted from the outstanding adoption fee, which is to be paid at collection of the dog. Eg if full adoption fee is $450, and you pay a $100 holding fee so we can hold the dog for a week- the day you collect the dog you will sign and adoption contract, and pay the remaining $350 fee of which $50 is non-refundable.
During the trial period, should the pet become ill, you must notify OTC immediately and present it to the OTC-approved vet clinic in your area so OTC can cover any treatment needed. At the completion of your adoption trial period, OTC will send you a copy of your signed contract and relevant vet documents.
So. Ready to roll? Then fill out the attached short form, and we will be in contact to successful applicants asap. Feel free to follow us up via Facebook page inbox should you want an update on your application.
