About Azúcar
*In foster care in Alexandria, Sydney*
A funny and fearless little lass, amazing Azúcar is full of contradictions, cuteness and fun!
Her foster carers like to think of her as their cuddly koala (except she’s even more cuddly than a real koala!) - a perfect description for her, from her soft, fluffy grey fur and classic chonk body type (think short legs, big belly, stumpy little tail), to her chill-as yet observant disposition and love of climbing up high!
But to say this sums Azúcar up would be a disservice. She’s part independent apex predator trapped in a tiny body, and she's got the street smarts and athleticism to prove it - with no toy mouse, fuzzy ball or feather on a string escaping those menacingly soft murder mittens!
At the same time she’s also part that stereotypical clueless male support character from [pick your favourite romcom]. Seriously, this kid is the most uncoordinated, clumsy, Winnie-the-pooh-esque kitten her foster carers have ever known! Every attempt to settle down with them for a snuggle results in the most awkward and least comfortable position possible, and the occasional plummet from lap to floor. But she just brushes it off and starts the process again!
And her EYES! Don’t forget her eyes! They’re absolutely hypnotising. If you weren't already in love...
Overall, Azúcar is a gorgeous, hilarious, cheeky girl who'll bring oodles of joy to any household lucky enough to adopt her!

Like all Maggie's pets, Azúcar is microchipped, desexed and vaccinated.

MY IDEAL HOME: I’m super adaptable, so I'm likely to fit in to almost any kind of home. So far I’ve survived on the streets and then very quickly got used to a foster home by myself, and then to another home with several resident cats and kittens!
I've got quite the vocal cords, so don't worry about ever losing me in your house, no matter how big it is ;)
If you'd like to nudge me along into being the incredibly snuggly, human-focused lap cat that I reckon I've got the potential to be… well, I’m well on my way already, but I'll definitely need lots of one-on-one attention and affection every day, and play time too. I can't wait for our bond to grow!
MY ENERGY LEVEL: Kitten! I tend to spend a few hours bouncing off the walls, playing chase with you and any other pets who are up for it, followed by food and a long nap… rinse and repeat!
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: I haven’t had a lot of experience with children big or small, but I'm pretty relaxed and adventurous by nature, so chances are I'll adore living with any kids who are kind to me! I'm nice and floppy (especially during pats!) and I've never been known to scratch.
MY SUITABILITY TO CATS AND DOGS: I'm very social with cats - almost *too* social with the older ones who appreciate their own space (oops!). I am learning, though.
I've not yet been tested with dogs, but my foster carers feel I'm suited to an environment with well-trained dogs and confident pet parents who'll take the time for slow and steady introductions, ensuring a positive experience for all!

Our foster carer will contact you when we receive your application to arrange a time for you to meet with their foster pet.
We want your adoption through Maggie's to be a good experience so we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog that may suit your situation better and the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two-week trial. At the end of the trial, we will transfer the microchip into your name and provide you with the pets vet certificates. Once you receive the Certificate of Identification from council, your adoption will be complete.
