About Morgan
Morgan is a delightful female 10-11mth old mixed breed of sweetness and fun and is currently just over 17kgs and not expected to get too much bigger.
She comes with her own eye-liner, a loving and trusting heart and a tongue that would lick an ice-cream clean off its stick in seconds .
Morgan is chipped as being an Australian Shepherd mix, the vet believes there is maybe some Kelpie in her, and where those big soulful brown eyes come from who knows ?
Morgan came into care very timid and not interested in soft toys or balls or any type of play.. fast forward 2 weeks and she loves squeak toys, pouncing on lizards in your garden, chasing after a ball (not necessarily bringing it back though mind you!) and playing tug o war.
She tries so hard to make friends with any dog she meets with very submissive play and behaviour.
Morgan is a super fast runner! And when she is in play mode – She IS IN PLAY MODE!
She can go from 0 to 100 then back to 0 very quickly though and a loving rub of her fur can see her motionless in an instant.
She will let you pick her up and put her on her belly in your arms, she is so trusting.
Morgan loves a couch cuddle and putting her head on your lap, but she does not mind lying in her own bed though too.
Morgan shares her foster home with 2 other slightly larger older dogs (male and female) and a tiny very old poodle and 2 mature cats.
Morgan gets along well with the resident dogs and eats her dinner with them and is tolerant of the cats (even lets one of them rub across her face), but we do think she may like to chase the cats given the chance, so careful introductions with felines and monitoring is always recommended.
Morgan loves her food and sits well for treats and is learning sit-wait-go which is in progress slowly.
Morgan responds well to her name when called to go outside or come inside and has been outside with her 2 big doggy friends for up to 6 hours by themselves with no issues.
She sleeps so well in a crate in the lounge room for 7- 8 hours - bonus!
Did we tell you she is a chatter box?.. she does not seem to bark much, but she loves to say hello to you with a delightful girggly roo roo growly noise that is all hers to give and tell you how happy she is to see you and be with you.
She walks ok on a lead already and loves to sniff her surroundings and travels so so well in the car sitting up like the queen at times, but you have to either pick her up and put her in the car or coax her to get in it at this stage still with some treats
Morgan has had all her vet work done (desexed, vaxxed and chipped) and is up to date with flea/tick/worm prevention.
PLEASE NOTE – Little Morgan does have a longer than normal tongue – this means it hangs out more than normal and she is a messy drinker.
The vets have advised this is her “normal” and it causes no health issues at all.
Morgans adoption fee is $595 and she is in foster care at Arana Hills.
If you would like to meet her to see if you are a perfect match, please send us a detailed message telling us all about yourself and the wonderful life you could share together.
