About Hugo
Handsome Hugo is the total package with just one simple request, he needs to find himself a confident canine sibling.
Regretfully surrendered from a loving home, Hugo experiences isolation distress, and requires another medium to large canine in order to be comfortable when his humans leave. He is currently living with two great danes who he loves to be around, and is thriving in their company. A super social boy, Hugo enjoys his daycare visits and is sweet and gentle with his small fluffy friends - he also loves to meet new mates around the neighbourhood and is polite with greetings on leash.
The epitome of a couch potato, this super snoozer would prefer a more laid back home, and might make an excellent companion for retirees. A nice slow sniffari is just his pace, and while he will take you up on two short walks a day, he's more than happy with just one if you have a yard he can stretch his legs in when the mood takes him. More of a "snuggle in front of a movie" than a get out and get active kind of guy, Hugo is also a big fan of the car ride and would be happy to accompany you on road trips or adventures (so long as they are to fun destinations like brunch or a brewery, and not a long hike!).
A stair master, Hugo can do both carpeted and wooden stairs, and would be suitable for townhome living. Due to his low energy, snoozy nature, he would prefer to avoid apartments where he would have the hassle of getting outside a few times a day.
Hugo can be a little shy and stand offish with strange men on first meeting, but once he warms up you will have a best friend for life. He adores the plumber and the aircon repair man, and is quite the snuggly and smoochy boy. Luckily he is only 30kgs, as he feels lap dog is an attitude and not a size.
Best summed up, Hugo just wants pats, snacks, and naps - and he'll never cause you any trouble (so long as he always has someone to love nearby). We think this golden boy will be a perfect addition to any home looking to add to their collection of canines!

Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, some can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour.
As a result we look to rehome dogs into households where they are not left on their own for more than 4 hours per day on a regular basis, without either people or another dog for company. We are happy discuss strategies such as a dog walker or doggy day care. Going to work with you is also a great option
