About Eggnog
Looking for a big dog in a small body? Meet Eggnog!
This sweet little girl got her name as she was born on Christmas Day and she sure is something to be celebrated. With her beautiful coat and bubbly personality, she will make you feel like it’s a festive day every day!
Eggnog is a live wire who is full of life and ready to take on the world. She is active and playful. This little girl adores her people, and she does love some cuddle time, but she definitely won’t be a full time lap dog. Eggnog loves to run around and doesn’t let her size stop her trying new things. She has a confident and outgoing personality and will thrive in a home who will go out and do plenty with her. Eggnog loves toys and to play tug of war. She will give anything a go!
Eggnog has been in care with her sibling and now 2 other small breed dogs. She has had a fantastic start to her socialisation with other dogs as her foster mum is a vet and she gets regular trips to the clinic for gentle exposure and some socialisation. Eggnog loves to run around with the other dogs and for her age has very advanced social skills. She will be a small dog when fully grown - currently 2.7kg, so while her dad must have been bigger than chihuahua size, she will still round out under 10kg. Eggnog would do best in a home with another small breed dog, but she will be fine as an only dog too. Either way, she will need people home most of the time due to her young age.
Eggnog and her siblings are well adapted puppies, and this has been further supported by her great foster carer. She has met a range of people and been taken on appropriate outings to begin her exposure to the big wide world. Eggnog has been exposed to a range of normal household activities and noises such as vacuuming, lawn mowing, TV, music, dogs barking, etc. She travels well in the car and sleeps through the night. Her toilet training is underway, but of course being a young puppy it is a work in progress. Diligent management and continued training is essential. She is working on building up her independence and currently doesn’t love to be left completely alone (which young puppy does?), so her new owners will need to have the time and ability to continue her training in this area. Like with any new puppy, Eggnog’s new owners must have a solid plan for her ongoing training, exposure and socialisation to continue her development. She is quite an active girl and will need a family who want an active and adventurous dog to take on daily adventures. While she is cuddly and affectionate, she enjoys fun and exploring more!
We are looking for a dog experienced home for Eggnog where she will be a loved member of the family and included in the daily activities. She has lived with children in foster care, but due to her small size and petite frame, we would prefer an adult only home. If there are kids in the new home, owners will need to have prior toy dog experience and the kids will need to be very dog savvy to ensure no injuries occur. Eggnog must be allowed inside the home and to sleep inside. She is not a barker so will be fine in a unit or house, but any yard or balcony will need to have appropriate fencing for such a tiny puppy. She could live with other types of pets with the appropriate introductions and guidance.

This puppy will be adopted out under a desexing contract that will require the dog to be desexed by a given age. The cost of desexing will be included as part of the adoption fee. A $250 desexing bond will be payable in addition to the adoption fee and will be refunded upon proof of desexing. This process is further discussed with successful applicants.
Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
