About Stan
Honestly, who doesn't love Cheese?
Cheesy-Boy has had a rough few months - his owners up and left and left him in a backyard to fend for himself. Fortunately for Cheese, he got out of that situation quick-smart and now he is ready to never go back to that kind of life again.
This big man is a gentle soul - as you can imagine his life was turned upside down and when he came into The Lost Dogs' Home and he was quite worried. Cheese is now showing happy and relaxed behaviour and his true, sweet self is really starting to shine through. He seeks out the attention of the staff here and is super responsive to treats. Cheesy-boy is also one smart pooch - he can sit, shake and lie down all when rewarded with some yummy treats.
Now, while he is a bit of a smarty pants, he will still need ongoing training with positive reward-based training. Cheese is not the type of dog that will benefit from punishment techniques - as you can imagine the more you positively reward him, the more he will positively reward you back! He has been too much to have anything other than calmness and love in his life.
Cheese has shown some very social behaviour at The Lost Dogs' Home so he may be suitable to live with a doggy companion (we are unsure about cats, sorry!). If you have a gentle giant that may like a friend, bring them in to the shelter so they can meet.
Cheese's ideal home will be a happy, peaceful environment where all members of the household are secondary school aged and above. If you come in for a meet and greet with Cheese, please ensure the whole family comes down!
This big boy will likely start off timid, but that won't last for long.
Come down and meet Cheese today at The Lost Dogs' Home in North Melbourne - you won't regret it!
