About Chestnut
This gorgeous little ball of fluff is ready to fly into her new home!
Little Chestnut is an absolute joy. She is a spunky and playful puppy who loves to run around and stretch her legs, but is also just as happy to have a cuddle with her people. Chestnut will climb up into your lap and try to climb up to reach your face for kisses. She is the type of pup that just lights up the room when she enters. Chestnut has such a wonderful outgoing and confident personality, and will bring so much joy, happiness and laughter to her new owners.
Chestnut has been in foster care with one of her sisters, a small adult dog and a cat. She has also been introduced to a range of other dogs of all ages and sizes. She can be a little nervous to start with, but quickly warms up and enjoys zoomies in the backyard with her doggy friends. As a result, she is well ahead in her socialisation with other dogs. Chestnut loves to play with her sibling. They rough and tumble pretending they are big dogs. Chestnut’s mum is a Chihuahua mix and, according to the surrendering owner, her father is a Pomeranian. This little girl is a relatively active puppy despite her size, so will need daily exercise and the opportunity to get her zoomies in. She will need owners who will continue her socialisation with people and other known friendly dogs to ensure she continues to grow up into a lovely, social happy girl.
Chestnut is a well-adapted puppy who is only being further advanced by her foster carer’s great guidance. She has met a range of people and been taking on appropriate outings to begin her exposure to the big wide world. Chestnut has been exposed to a range of normal household activities and noises such as vacuuming, lawn mowing, TV, music, dogs barking, etc. While she’s not a fan of the vacuum and baths, her foster carer is continuing gentle exposure. She has started basic training and is a very smart cookie. Chestnut is crate trained and sleeps throughout the night in there. Her toilet training needs a bit of work as expected of such a young baby, but with continued consistency, she will get the hang of it. She also likes to play with toys and while she loves to play with her people, is also quite independent and happy to take herself outside for a play by herself. Like with any new puppy, Chestnut’s new owners must have a plan for her ongoing training, exposure and socialisation to continue her development.
We are looking for a dog experienced home for Chestnut where she will be a treasured member of the family and included in the daily activities. She can live with another friendly dog in the home as long as the resident dog will be gentle around her as she is so small. Due to her young age, she will need a home where someone is home more often than not. If transitioning to being an only dog, her new owners must have the ability to provide appropriate training and support during the setting in period. Chestnut will need to be allowed inside the home and must sleep inside at night. Any yard or balcony will need to have fencing appropriate for containing such a small sized puppy as well. Chestnut’s new home can have pets of other types as she has learnt to ignore the cat in foster care. She is currently living with dog savvy children and while we would preference adult only homes, she can be rehomed with children who are extremely respectful of dogs as one knock or drop could easily break a bone.

This puppy will be adopted out under a desexing contract that will require the dog to be desexed by a given age. The cost of desexing will be included as part of the adoption fee. A $250 desexing bond will be payable in addition to the adoption fee and will be refunded upon proof of desexing. This process is further discussed with successful applicants.
Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
