About Dot
Hi my name is Dot and I am a 6 year and 10 month old Toy Poodle x Bichon Frise
I came into care a few months ago and the rescue had a bit of a shock – I was carrying a few extra heartbeats in my tummy - I was in care for like a week and gave no sign to anyone that I was carrying them! When the rescue noticed i was out of character that morning they rushed me to the vets and an emergency C-Section was done and 2 babies were born. The rescue has been great and has taken awesome care of me and my babies who are now off on their own adventures and now It’s my turn!
I am nervous when meeting new people so I do need a few minutes just to settle and get used them but the rescue thinks as time goes by in my forever home that will lessen as I will be confident and settled.
I am looking for a home that is quiet and calm but still has a few people in the home to hang out and spend time with.
While I would like someone home to hang out with, I am happy if you’re gone for 4 hours a day - I don't need to live in your pocket but I do like company.
Once I am comfortable with you I would love to be able to give you cuddles – happy on the bed or on the couch together.
Now that my parent responsibilities have been sorted by the rescue I am with a few other breeds (small, big, old and young) none of them really bother me and I get along with everyone.
I would love a home with another small breed who is happy to hang and then chillax.
I am not tested on cats
I weigh 5.5 kgs
I am child friendly but don't want to be carried around by kids please
I don't really have the hang of walking on a lead after not really being given the opportunity until now - my foster mum lives on some land so I haven't really needed to learn to much. It's probably not something that is super important as I'm more of a hang around the house and chillax girl, however if it's something that your happy to have patience with and teach me it could work.
I am toilet trained
I am happy to have access to inside and outside during the day (I like to sleep inside on the couch, humans bed or my dog bed when your at work or if you work from home, I'm pretty sure I can find a spot in your office and snooze.
I do have a coat that requires regular grooming so please make sure that you do remember that it’s a life time of grooming.
If you think you could make me part of your family & are interested in applying to adopt me, please send thru an adoption application

Please note - They will not leave for their new homes until they are 12 weeks of age and have been desexed, micro-chipped and vaccinated up to date.

Please Note: We do not hold any animals so please only apply if you are ready to adopt now
Please note - We don't take calls on adoption enquiries - an application must be completed
We can also be found at https://www.facebook.com/pawprintscanine/
Complete the following adoption enquiry link

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 10 day trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $250) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption
AFTER THE TRIAL PERIOD
After the 10 day trial period is completed Paw Prints Canine will send out all relevant paperwork for your new furbaby via email including the transfer of microchip form.
