About Wilson
Our resident black beauty is ready to find his forever home! This gorgeous boy is seriously a show stopper and is going to make someone a very lovely, loyal companion. Wilson is a very manageable 26kg, and will likely stay under 30kg fully grown making him a great size.
Wilson came to us from a rural pound and his foster carers describe him as goofy, sweet natured and cuddly. While he is always happy to be wherever his humans are, he is also happy to take himself off to his bed and snooze the day away making him the perfect mix of cuddly and independent. Wilson is hoping his new family enjoys spending quality evening time with their pooch relaxing after a good adventure during the day.
Wilson came to us quite shut down and heading into foster carer in inner city was a big change for this young boy. His foster carers have been doing an amazing job of exposing him gently to the big wide world and he is coming along in leaps and bounds but it will take him a few more months to fully come out of his shell and feel secure in his surrounds. He will need an owner who is experienced with how to guide a dog when they feel overwhelmed, as Wilson still gets nervous in some situations. When he is feeling confident, he is engaged and super fun to have around and bonds very closely with his people. He is progressing very well and given he is coming along nicely in a busy area like Enmore, he will be happy to live in either a busier area or a quiet suburb, making him quite adaptable.
Wilson has started his basic training and has great house manners. He is crate trained and absolutely finds comfort in his place so his new owner should be open to using a crate or have a safe space for him to retreat to if he feels overwhelmed. He is respectful of boundaries and quietly rests in his bed or at his foster carer’s feet during the day while they work from home. He travels well in the car, sleeps through the night without a peep and walks well on leash. We are so proud of how far Wilson has come in the few weeks he’s been with us, so with continued guidance and support he will absolutely flourish into a dog who will make one lucky family a fantastic companion for many years to come.
Wilson was at the rural pound for a couple of months before he came to us and was in a yard with up to 10 other dogs of varying ages and sizes at one time due to overcrowding. His sociability continued when coming to Sydney and he has enjoyed many play dates with doggy friends and is always happy to say hello to other dogs he meets on his walks. He is currently an only dog in foster care, but would equally enjoy sharing his home with another confident, playful and happy dog. His new owners will need to continue his socialisation with other known, friendly dogs to ensure he continues to remain the social dog that he is now once he is an adult.
Wilson is lucky enough to have his carers work from home, but they have been making a conscious effort to leave him home alone here and there. He is slowly getting used to being left alone, but does prefer to be in his crate when you’re out as he has shown he has a joy for minor landscaping if he’s outside alone at this time. This is just puppy behaviour rather than separation anxiety so with continued training and maturity he will grow out of this. His new home should have people home more often than not as he will be a little unsure going into a new home and needs the support and time of his new family to guide him through this transition. His foster carers have said he is extremely easy to have around the home and is a lovely addition to the household.
Wilson is slowly leaving his tough start to life behind and is learning about what it’s like to be a pampered pet dog. He has started showing an interest in toys and enjoys trying new yummy foods. He is also a sucker for belly scratches and will never say no if they are up for offer! Due to Wilson still finding loud noises and sudden movements a bit daunting, we are looking for an adult only home for him. He is progressing well and has shown absolutely no aggression, so a home that plans to have kids in future will be fine. By the time kids come into the picture, he will be a star family dog. He is a puppy that is absolutely full of character and is sure to put a smile on your face every day. Wilson is a moderately active boy so is looking for a family who will walk him daily and take him on lots of fun adventures.
Wilson is looking for a dog experienced family who will allow him inside to be part of the family and provide him a warm and comfy bed to sleep on inside of a night. He will need to be provided a good quality diet, continued training, socialisation and exposure and be able to go on lots of fun outings. He is an easy puppy to have around and with a bit more confidence with new people and in new situations he will make the perfect family dog.
If you are looking for an extremely cuddly, strikingly beautiful and exceptionally hilarious goofball, then Wilson might be your boy. Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
