Meet Mollyrose, a divine little senior looking for the perfect home where she can continue to blossom. She thrives on being the center of attention and requires patience and understanding. Once she gains your trust, you'll be captivated by her big, soulful eyes.
Sadly, Mollyrose has endured neglect throughout her life. Used for breeding, she was relegated to the backyard with her dominant partner, often overlooked for attention and food. Upon surrendering to our care, she had to learn basic aspects of life that we take for granted. Although she's mastered toilet training, she may still make mistakes, requiring your patience. Access from indoors to outdoors is essential for her to relieve herself freely.
Since being in foster care, Mollyrose has flourished. She revels in affection, enjoying leisurely strolls and adventures in her dog pram. Massages and brushes are among her favorite indulgences, and she'll gently tap your knee if you stop. Accompanied by her carer, she delights in visits to dog-friendly cafes, relishing the spoils of attention she missed out on for so long. While she's been trained to walk on a lead, it's mainly to prevent wandering.
Mollyrose needs a patient owner willing to assist her with socialisation. Slow introductions are crucial, as she still harbors fears and nerves from spending nine years isolated in a backyard.
While she generally gets along with most dogs, interactions must proceed at her pace. Though initially wary of humans, given time, she'll warm up to you.
Mollyrose also has some health considerations. She has a Grade 3/6 heart murmur, which went untreated but now necessitates twice-daily medication. Additionally, there's some laxity in her right back leg, although it hasn't fully luxated, and she also experiences arthritis in her hind legs. This is being treated with monthly injections
While she's prone to minor allergies, they don't significantly impact her quality of life. It's worth noting that there was a syncope episode and three hours of continual panting due to an elevated heart rate, but these haven't recurred since she began her heart medication.
