About Dobby
Greetings! Dobby here, the delightful 10-month-old Staffy cross Whippet with a mischievous spirit and a heart full of love. Just like my magical namesake from the Harry Potter series, I bring a touch of enchantment to every moment of life.
I must say, I am quite the social wizard among my furry friends! Currently, I am enjoying my time in a playful group with three other delightful dogs. We have such fun adventures together, chasing balls, exploring new places, and sharing lots of doggy laughter.
But what truly makes my tail wag with joy is being around people! Oh, the delight of human company is simply magical to me. I thrive on the love and companionship of my family and friends, finding happiness in every cuddle, belly rub, and wag of approval.
Now, being at such a young age, I am also a curious little creature eager to learn and explore. Training would be such a fun adventure for us to embark on together! With patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement, I am ready to learn all the tricks and manners that will make me an even more enchanting companion.
Whether it's frolicking in the park, going on exciting outings, or simply snuggling up for a cozy nap after a successful training session, count me in! Life is an enchanting journey, and I am ready to embrace every moment of it with open paws.
My biggest wish is to find a loving family who shares my zest for life and is ready to embark on magical adventures with me, including training adventures! Together, we can create cherished memories and fill our days with laughter and love. So, if you're seeking a playful, affectionate companion to brighten your days, look no further than me, Dobby, your loyal and charming canine friend!
To book a meet and greet with Dobby please phone 5441-2209 or email barcreception@bendigo.vic.gov.au . Due to the high volume of emails received, enquiries with a request for a specific appointment with phone details included will receive a response as priority over generic applications which state they are interested in meeting an animal.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
