About Fenech
Fenech is a sweet, curious, cautious, big goofball. You can't help but fall in love with this boy.
Fenech is a little 22 kilo very short size Boxer who will 100% melt your heart
He has a very over pronounced over bite and the weirdest set of little Teefs and some very goofy behaviors that make you laugh
Our very very special boy has been to HELL and back in his very short 2 years of life . When he arrived he was quite a mess both mentally and emotionally
Fenech is scared all over the back of his body with what can only be many many cigarette burn
He was terrified of humans and touch
We was very underweight
He had severe trauma to one of his eyes that we had to get removed duet to the severe damage
He still has scarring around his neck ( unknown cause )
Fenech is one hell of a fighter, he came in terrified of humans but now he greets everyone with bum waggles!! He has become so much more confident while being here. He loves his small walks, when I say small I mean small We only stick to the same track because that's what he is familiar with. He will need someone committed to building his confidence in the outside world. A doggy friend to show him the ropes would also help.
We have found walking him with another dog sees his confidence absolutely SOAR and he will happily walk wherever they go happily following along enjoying the new scenery
Fenny is such a goof, he's your typical bouncy, stubborn boxer who is curious about everything and anything. He will sniff any foreign thing that you leave lying around. Then he likes to give it a little push with his nose to see if it will fall over and make sure its not going to “ come alive lol “
He loves to play with toys. He loves a teddy bear, and often tries to steal the kids toys lying around the house.
He is also a blanket thief, clothes, towels. Really anything that looks cozy enough to sleep on.
This also includes washing on the line but the last few times he has left them there.
When it comes to a proper bed of his own we did experience some resource guarding behavior and he would growl at anyone who came near his bed so we removed the bed and returned his favorite blanket and have had no issues since …. Very weird little fella ….. Lol
He has been non destructive while being here. He can tend to dig holes to bury things, but that's been the worst of it.
Fen is a well behaved boy while inside, he's not food motivated, he will happily lay on his blanket while inside. Occasionally he will get up to check what you're doing but most of the time he kicks back and chills out watching TV
We have come a very long way with toileting. He hasn't had an accident in a while, he has since learnt how to use the doggy door to take himself in and out. This could regress in his new home but It stays on track with access to the back yard.
Fens favourite things include stuffed toys and nice minky soft blankets!
He is definitely infatuated with a minky blanket and even if he has one but you have one on your bed, he will sneak into your room and stealthily steal yours too … He's like a Bower bird …. And definitely has a fettish for soft blankets …
Fenny has gotten so much more confident around humans. He can still be wary, but it doesn't take him long to warm up.
Fenny LOVES other dogs, he is quite a playful little boy and would be suited to a home with another dog with similar energy in play . He does get tired quite quickly, but it's all fun and games while we last!
He hasn't been tested with cats, but he loves the neighbors pony, I honestly think he would be okay with a dog savvy cat.
He just watches the birds in the backyard.
Due to his still getting used to having only site from one eye and traumatic prior life we would not be confident placing him in a home with younger inexperienced children as we feel this boy could regress if placed in an overly noisy environment or with young children who might accidentally approach on his blind side without making him aware
Fenny is so stubborn we have learnt how to sit. Unfortunately Fen isn't food motivated, so trying to get him to do anything he doesn't want to do is a mission. He loves to be praised and that's definitely helped with the toileting.
Fen is currently on a mix of wet and dry food, as he does find eating dry kibbles difficult. Mixing the wet food in to help soften it has helped. He also loves a home cooked meal every now and again, pasta and chicken is his favourite! Due to his exceptionally large overbite he does alot better with smaller food sizes so to help with his weight gain and his challenges to eat we have moves him onto a small size puppy food kibble in which is working well
Fen is fine being left home alone. He can bark when you initially leave the house, but this doesn't always happen and it doesn't last long.
Fen doesn't love a bath, but he will sit there and let you wash him.
Fen sleeps in and outside, really depends on the weather. I've found with the hot days he has preferred to sleep outside. He does have access to do as he pleases.
Fenny does love his small walks. He does need to get used to his surroundings before a walk becomes successful. He does need work to continue to build his confidence outside. Having another doggy walking buddy definitely helps.

Ideal home.
A loving family for this special boy who will be dedicated to building Fens confidence.
Fen will need time and patience to be comfortable in his new home and this must be a part of consideration prior to applying
A home that will love him and treat him to the life he so truly deserves
A home where Fen will be allowed inside.
A back medium sized yard to run around and play with toys.
A quiet household as loud noises startle him.
Another dog companion to play and learn with would be great but not a deal breaker but they must be kind and gentle and love to play
