About Lilly
Calling all Kelpie Lovers
Our gorgeous glossy girl LILLY is looking for her forever home 🏡
22.6kg, Kelpie-X
💔 BACKGROUND
LILLY is around 4.5 years old however we really don’t know much about her history as LILLY was surrendered to a Melbourne pound and we managed to bring her into the safety of foster care with only hours to spare! We think LILLY may have had puppies in her past but she won’t need to worry about Mama duties any longer now 🥰. We suspect LILLY has not had much exposure to living indoors or the big wide world in general. But she has shown the friendliest gentlest, sweetest temperament even had a #bff at the pound who was a chihuahua! 😁😄
⭐️ Since arriving into our care, LILLY has now learned that being an indoor dog, with access to a secure, fully fenced (minimum 6 ft high) outdoor space is what it’s all about! 😀🥹. LILLY’s daily routine includes a leisurely breakfast, followed by a walk to explore the neighbourhood, then home again for some outside time with her piggy toy or licky mat, and some short treat based training sessions throughout the day before settling in for her daily snooze on her very own comfy bed.
Yes that's correct, she isn't the typical very active Kelpie 😁 this lady is not complaining about not having to round up sheeps anymore.!
🥰 LILLY never says No to a second walk, before or after dinner, and then it’s Netflix and chill time! We also recently discovered that while bath time 🛁 is new to LILLY and is tolerated, she absolutely LOVES post bath grooming and massage and will practically fall asleep in your arms.
LILLY is :
✅️ House Trained
✅️ Toilet Trained
✅️ Friendly with dogs that are also friendly, calm & well balanced.
❌️ Untested w Cats or other small animals.
✅️ Working on Basic Obedience (Sit, Wait, Down, and Leave It) and has made great progress in a very short time!
🐶🐕🦮 LILLY absolutely loves making new human friends, cuddling with her human friends, especially when treats are involved. Within a very short time you will find that LILLY loves pats and cuddles, responds immediately to a gentle voice and gives the sweetest kisses.
LILLY is extremely intelligent & loyal true to her breed and has already formed a very strong bond with her current carer so we have no doubt she will do the same with her forever family. ❤️
ℹ️ LILLY needs ongoing leash training and support for her leash walking as the busy suburbia environment is very different than her rural life before , with all of the exciting surroundings, so we are looking for a confident family that is willing to continue her engagement and loose leash walking training, including a professional trainer is required.
True to her breed, she responds well with confident humans, LILLY is super smart and with ongoing guidance we are confident she will ace this in no time!
ℹ️ LILLY is DOG FRIENDLY. See her videos - she quickly settles down , able to read other dogs very quickly and can be assertive when needed . She does extremely well, especially when walking with other calm, mature doggies who can show her the ropes.
👉 It’s very important that LILLY’s forever family include her as a part of the family as she is now an indoor dog with access to outdoor when she needs to go to toilet.
LILLY has made friends with other dogs in our care and did very well, even when she was still at the pound, she was besties with a chihuahua! LILLY just needs confident humans that will give her the time to catch up with the cafe-ing lifestyle training, with consistency and patience to improve her city life skills.😊🙂
No she isn't bothered with loud noises etc . She is GREAT in the car too. Best co driver !
ℹ️ this girl is super smart true to her breed thus she needs to ensure both her mind and body receive the appropriate level of engagement and exercise on a regular basis.
LILLY truly has a beautiful, sweet, gentle and curious temperament both with dogs and humans small or big.
and with continuous training you'll have the best K9 companion for your family.
🙏❤️❤️🩷Those that have experience with working breeds in the past will be a fantastic fit for Miss LILLY. 🙌
✅️ Whilst we have not had the chance to socialise LILLY with children, due to her very gentle nature, we believe she will be fine with dog savvy kids above 10yo* and are happy to review this on a case by case basis. We did recently observe LILLY being approached on a walk by very small children and she was calm and receptive.

Adoption details
We have a mandatory house inspection
Shortlisted adopters will be contacted to arrange a meet & greet with the pet and the foster family. **Depending on our foster's availability . We welcome multiple meets, and urge all family members to attend the meet incld if you have existing pet, a proper meet with your existing pet is a must.
Once contacted for a meet & greet, assuming everything goes well and you are a good match for the pet and vice versa, our adoption process is short and can be finalised pretty quick , between 7 to 14 days you can bring your newly adopted pet home.
We require all adopters to pick up their newly adopted pet, rather than us dropping the pet to you, this is to avoid abandonment trauma towards the pet.
We do follow-ups throughout the life of the animal, adopter must be available to provide updates when required , specifically during the 1st 3 months post adoption
You MUST complete our adoption form before we can arrange a meet with the pet you are applying for.
We believe every pet choose their human/home🙏 beyond ensuring each pet is matched with the right home & family that can meet their needs , we also look for signs of true connection between you & the pet you are interested in adopting.
All Adoptions incld vet certificates for desex vaccination and any other relevant vet notes /history .
These documents will only be given to the confirmed adopter once an adoption agreement has been finalised.
We aim to ensure all adopted pet to never be returned, abandoned or surrendered to a pound again so we ask you, In the event that you are unable to care for the animal anymore, you must contact us to seek verbal advice.
Having a pet is a lifetime commitment so It is important that you consider who will be helping you with your newly adopted pet, should you become unavailable or need help down the track .
Some animals will require mandatory enrollment to professional training/behaviorist - this will be noted on the animal's profile & adoption agreement, we will require proof of enrollment before we are able to complete the adoption process/transfer of ownership.
