ABOUT:
Her snuggles? Iconic.
Her squeaky mews? Iconic.
Those piercing eyes? Iconic.
The zoomies? Iconic.
There’s no way to sugar coat it, Lavender is an exceptional example of a teen cat stuck in a kitten's body. This teeny sweetheart came into care extremely underweight, with anaemia and dermatitis from flea infestation, and a lingering sinus issue. Despite all this neglect, she knew one thing and one thing only, and that’s how to love and be loved. When her foster carer picked her up she was snuggled into her chest purring and making little biccies within less than a minute, and hasn’t willingly left her side since!
Now she’s feeling better and has gained some much needed weight, Lavender is exploring what it is to be a young cat with endless energy! She has learned to play and is doing well walking on a harness already. She is the epitome of a ‘bombproof’ cat, and regularly heads to work with her foster Mum for cuddles and endless attention. Lavender's favourite trick is to stretch her tiny paws up your legs and mew at you until you pick her up and carry her around like she’s your baby, which of course she is!
Noise and new people don’t phase Lavender either, so she would be a wonderful addition to a young family, or someone who likes to entertain at home. She is still learning to do zoomies, jump up, and play without claws, and doesn’t know what personal space is yet so would need to be supervised around very young children and cribs. She is content in her own company for short periods, but would do best in a home where she can be around people and maybe another cat for playtime as much as possible. Lavender is very intelligent and could potentially be trained as a companion/support cat for someone looking to go through that process. She is very comfortable in public where appropriate and when restrained, and travels well in the car.
Lavender has settled in with the other foster cats in her home like she’s been there for years. After her isolation period ended she strolled into the main house confident and fearless, and was playing and cuddling with them within minutes. Her lack of personal space does extend to other cats however, so any feline or canine companions will need to be tolerant of her energy and affection levels. She has met a few small dogs through her crate and appears unphased by them, so would likely be fine in a home with a gentle, cat friendly dog if introduced correctly.
