About Reef - Located in Fawkner
Hello there, potential new friend! My name is Reef, and let me tell you, I've been on quite the journey lately. But here I am, ready to embrace this new chapter of my life with open paws!
You see, I'm the kind of guy who needs a bit of time to adjust to new surroundings. It's not that I'm unfriendly, I just like to take things at my own pace. So, if you could spare me a cozy room for the first few days, I'd be ever so grateful. It'll give me the chance to get my bearings and feel right at home.
Now, don't let my initial shyness fool you. Once I start feeling comfortable, I'm a whole different cat! Especially if there are treats involved... Did someone say treats? I'm VERY food motivated, you know.
Once I warm up to you, get ready for some serious affection. I'll be by your side as you work from home or whip up something delicious in the kitchen. Speaking of which, did I mention how much I love food? It's kind of my thing.
Toys? Oh, I'm all about them! Show me a good toy, and I'll show you a good time. Play sessions? Count me in! I'm always up for some fun and games.
Now, about this whole "being a house cat" thing... I'm still learning the ropes. But hey, aren't we all? I'd prefer a quiet home without any tiny humans running around. They can be a bit scary, you know? But who knows, with time and patience, I might just learn to tolerate them and all the noise they make. Never say never, right?
So, there you have it. I may have come a long way already, but I'm just getting started. With your love and support, I'll keep on learning and growing in confidence. Together, we'll make the purrfect team. So, what do you say? Ready to welcome a sweet and loving guy like me into your home?

WORLDWIDE CAT VACCINE SHORTAGE
There is currently a worldwide shortage of cat vaccines and supplies are unlikely to be replenished until early 2024. This is due to complicated supply problems post-COVID. Our vets have limited, and in some cases no supplies available, but are prioritising kittens and previously unvaccinated Cats wherever possible.
Kittens are at the highest risk as their level of protection is very low after the initial protection provided by the mother’s antibodies. While protection will wane a little over time, a delay up to three months is unlikely to result in a significant reduction in levels of protection. It is anticipated that clinics should have regular supplies early in the new year to bring your cat back up to date.
First Vaccination completed
We will try to provide at least 1 vaccination, depending on our supplies of vaccines available, however boosters may become overdue. In this case it is your responsibility to contact your vet as soon as supplies become available. We will not be re-imbursing any of this costs.
We require all cats and kittens to be indoors only and not allowed outside. This is especially important now as there is a risk of coming into contact with unknown cats who may not be vaccinated.
No Vaccination completed
Where we are unable to provide any vaccination during their time in care with us, please contact us on 0459779888 or via email to samantha@neko.org.au, and we will arrange for one vaccination to be done at one of our partnering clinics as soon as supplies are available. Boosters after this will be your responsibility.
Please note that should you choose to utilise your own clinic, we will not be re-imbursing any costs. This is your responsibility.
