About Milo
Milo is a shaggy, cuddly teddy bear đ§¸
"I am the sweetest, most loyal companion you could find. I am perfectly house-trained (I know not to go on any furniture except my bed, and can stay inside overnight with no issues, and also inside during the day for hours if needed).
I am not destructive at all (chewing etc). I am very obedient with all my commands (âsitâ, âstayâ, âon your bedâ, âbackâ, âwaitâ, âoutsideâ, âsettleâ etc), and am especially good at mealtime, where I will wait until youâve said âokayâ before I eat my dinner, even if youâre out of sight! Truth be told though, sometimes I huff like a teenager when told to get on my bed, just so you know that I donât want to, even though I am doing as you ask.
I like to be outside for most of the day, but love to sleep inside, and particularly love to lie at your feet inside and relax at the end of the day. I will quietly approach you with my biggest puppy dog eyes and shaggy head for snuggles and pats. I like to follow you around the house, just to be near you, but donât need to be on you or in your face (which is good, because I am 33kg!).
I only bark to let you know if there is something nearby that is different. I am not particularly fond of the postman because of his/her motorbike, and also donât love the mower so will bark at it while you try to mow (I am just trying to protect you, promise!).
I love casual walks and sniffing new smells, but donât need to go for regular runs etc. I like the beach and digging in the sand, but I am confused about waves â are they trying to get me?
I love people, and can get excited when meeting new ones. That said, I am responsive to being told to âsettleâ and know that I wonât get pats and attention until I am sitting calmly, so I get over the excitement quickly to get to the pats!
Little people (under the age of 12) make me nervous, so I would prefer a home where there are only bigger kids or adults.
I am ok with cats if they are inside, but if they are outside, I canât help to chase, unless I am on a lead, in which case I am very well behaved. I love having a doggy friend at home, but I like to be the boss-dog, so would prefer to meet any potential new housemate before moving in together đ."
Milo has been very loved and would be best with a doggie friend
Adoption details
We list animals for adoption on Pet Rescue as well as on our own Animals-in-Need-Brisbane website. We talk with people who contact about an animal to see what their needs and situation are. Our emphasis is on getting the right animal for the people and the right people for the animal. If everyone's needs are met things usually work out well.
If the situation sounds good we arrange a meeting. If all goes well we let people try the animal out for a couple of weeks to ensure that everyone is happy.
We keep records of all adopters, follow up to ensure all is well and undertake to take back any animal if circumstances change.
