About Shadow - 11 Week Old Wolfhound X
Exceptional home sought for Shadow, our gorgeous little deaf pup.
Shadow is 11 weeks old and was part of the Wolfhound cross litter. Her exact breeding is unknown but the vet thinks there may be some Cattle in there. We think she will grow to be medium in size.
Shadow has a super soft coat with brindle ears and patches. When you pick her up she does the cutest little grunts like a piglet when you snuggle her. She engages in play with tug toys and soft toys and fumbles around with her sisters.
Our experience shows that deaf dogs often do best when they have a well trained older dog to take cues from. She will live a happy and full life, but her owners will need to make adjustments to their training and communication with her. She is food and play driven which is a great foundation for training and dogs are great at learning hand signals.
Shadow will need a secure yard with high fencing and no gaps or hazards. Her new family must be around to feed her 3 to 4 times per day initially. She will need a commitment to regular exercise, an inside bed and due to her special needs, would be best with older kids. All pups need basic training to set the foundations for successful dogging in human homes, but for Shadow, a commitment to ongoing training will be a requirement of her adoption.
She gives the best cuddles and will be a beautiful companion to the right family. Can you be her hero?
To register your interest in adopting Shadow you can fill out the adoption questionnaire here https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt
PLEASE NOTE: When applying for our dogs and puppies, please ensure to list the name of the dog you wish to adopt. Please do NOT just list the reference number or the microchip number as this will delay your application reaching the correct foster carer.
You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au or www.petrescue.com.au
Shadow adoption fee is $700.00 which includes their desexing when they are old enough. It also includes their first two vaccinations. They have been treated for fleas and worms, and are microchipped.
Shadow is in foster care in Salamander Bay, NSW area. Since they are not yet desexed, the are only available for adoption in the Lower Hunter region (Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Port Stephens, Maitland and Cessnock) plus Central Coast and Sydney. They will need to be returned to one of our approved vets for desexing when they are 5 to 6 months old.
PLEASE NOTE: Dog Rescue Newcastle provides individual listings with specific requirements for each foster dog. If you submit an application or inquiry and DO NOT receive a response within 5 business days, please understand that you have not met the specific requirements for this dog. Please do not be disheartened or discouraged, this simply means you were not a suitable match at this time.
