About Shepherd
Hello McDreamy!!
Shepherd is a stunner with his gorgeous tan coat and white markings. He is a beautiful natured puppy who has slotted into family life in his foster home like he has always been there. Shepherd loves to get cuddles and be loved on by the children of the house. He has a confident and easy going personality. Out and about, he enjoys meeting new people and making friends with anyone who will let him. At home, he loves to play and has even learnt to fetch a ball! But at the end of the day, when all the fun is over, Shepherd is in his happiest spot, curled up with his foster family.
While in foster care, Shepherd has been living with a large adult dog. They enjoy rumbling together and learns lots of things from his big foster brother. Shepherd is good at meeting other dogs and making new doggy pals. His new family should continue his socialisation with other dogs to ensure that he remains the friendly happy fella that he is now. This would ideally be in the form of playdates with other known friendly dogs. Shepherd is expected to be a moderately active dog and therefore need daily exercise and mental stimulation throughout his life to keep him happy and healthy.
Shepherd is a smart puppy who picks up things quite quickly. He is already taking himself outside to toilet like his big foster brother has shown him as long as the door is open for him. Even at night, he is settled in his crate with a stuffed toy and sleeps right through from 8:30pm to 6:30pm. Shepherd has been learning how to sit and wait for his food. He is doing very well walking on a lead, but we think it’s because he sees his big brother do it too. We know Shepherd’s dad was a medium sized mixed breed and a lovely friendly boy. We suspect mum may have been a bit larger and we are expecting Shepherd will grow to a larger size (possibly in the range of 25-35kg). It is very important for his new family to be committed to his training and development. We want him to reach his potential and be an excellent canine citizen that can travel along to lots of fun places with his owners.
We are looking for a dog experienced home for Shepherd where he will be a loved member of the family and included in the daily activities. He would be great living in a home with another friendly adult dog who is already fully trained up and ready to be a great role model for him. Shepherd would also be fine as an only dog if his owners are home more often than not to spend time with him and guide him through this transition. As part of the family, Shepherd should be allowed inside and will need a warm comfy bed to sleep on at night.
This boy travels well in the car and will make a great buddy to take along on outings. He is fine to live with dog savvy children who are confident enough to deal with the normal puppy behaviours. Shepherd is young enough to learn to live with other types of pets with the appropriate training and guidance. This beautiful soul will light up the lives of his new family members by bringing laughter and joy to his new home.
If you would like to make this gorgeous boy a part of your family, then please complete a Dog Adoption Enquiry form on the Fetching Dogs website as the first step. Please include plenty of details about your previous dog experience, current household members and the type of lifestyle you can offer Shepherd.

This puppy will be adopted out under a desexing contract that will require the dog to be desexed by a given age. The cost of desexing will be included as part of the adoption fee. A $250 desexing bond will be payable in addition to the adoption fee and will be refunded upon proof of desexing. This process is further discussed with successful applicants.
Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
