About Pixie
Personal space? Pixie's never heard of it. Personally, she's not sure why everyone wouldn't want to share their spot with her?! This little love bug is still working on her boundaries, but will quickly pick up the rules of a new home - she has learned so many things already, and will dazzle you with her excellent sits!
Truly embracing life as a well loved pet, Pixie has mastered concrete stairs, getting in and out of the car, greeting everyone at the markets (and giving lots of kisses!), being home alone with her canine foster brother, bravery in the face of storms, and playing with toys. She loves her Kong, and her foster home have dabbled in enrichment treats like ice blocks which she very much enjoys on a warm day! A counter surfing champion, Pixie delights in obtaining new treasures from socks to plastic caps to meatballs left unattended in the kitchen - she has a busy and curious mind and it is best to ensure that things are put away before leaving her unsupervised.
A pocket rocket, this little lady may be nearly four but she loves her long walks and enjoys zoomies in the yard, a home with an outdoor space is a must as Pixie is still a little shy about toileting on leash and prefers a bit of privacy (we did mention she was a lady after all). Speaking of zoomies, Pixie is a specialist and her foster reports she has several "types" from the pounce and zoom, to the butt scoot where her back end nearly goes faster than her front and she zooms along in an almost sitting position.
While Pixie might adjust to a home where humans are around more often than not, she adores her greyhound foster brother, and would enjoy smothering a tolerant hound with all her love and attention. She also draws a lot of confidence from being with other dogs, and at the markets will often watch the other greyhounds and model their behaviours.
If you are looking for a sweet shadow to closely supervise your work from home days, but also a playful companion ready to bring the fun, then look no further than this gorgeous girl.

Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, some can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour.
As a result we look to rehome dogs into households where they are not left on their own for more than 4 hours per day on a regular basis, without either people or another dog for company. We are happy discuss strategies such as a dog walker or doggy day care. Going to work with you is also a great option
