About Bluey
Bluey, the 8-month-old Blue Heeler, is a powerhouse of energy and charm. Built like a tank and boasting the title of the best-looking Blue boy around, Bluey is a bundle of joy with a playful spirit. Training is a must for this energetic pup as he works on refining his manners, especially when it comes to his boundless enthusiasm.
Bluey loves nothing more than bouncing around, showcasing his exuberance and zest for life. While he adores everyone he meets, his bounciness makes him best suited for households with children aged 8 and older. He thrives in the company of other dogs and would excel in a home with an older canine companion who can help set boundaries.
One of Bluey's favorite pastimes is playing fetch, showcasing his athleticism and eagerness to please. However, being a typical puppy, he also enjoys exploring the world through chewing, so providing appropriate chew toys is essential.
With a name like Bluey, this pup embodies the playful and adventurous spirit akin to the beloved character Bluey. With consistent training, love, and plenty of playtime, Bluey promises to be a loyal and fun-loving companion for any family willing to embrace his boundless energy and affectionate nature.
To book a meet and greet with Bluey please phone 5441-2209 or email barcreception@bendigo.vic.gov.au . Due to the high volume of emails received, enquiries with a request for a specific appointment with phone details included will receive a response as priority over generic applications which state they are interested in meeting an animal.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
