Charlie is an endearing dog with captivating eyes. He shows deep affection to his humans and prefers constant companionship with his owners. If left alone he doesn't do very well and will bark in loneliness. If you are home a lot, Charlie would be in heaven. He can also accompany you when you go out with no trouble. He enjoys cuddling on the sofa and takes delight in nestling under the duvet with you at night.

Charlie does show some jealous behaviour centring on his humans, for example barking at other dogs in the household when they enter the bedroom because he feels it is his space to enjoy with his carer. While he does generally coexist happily with the other dogs he lives with in foster care, he does get somewhat jealous of his people around other dogs. He would be best suited as the only pet in the home but would be fine meeting dogs in social situations outside his home, eg walks, the cafe etc.

Charlie may not be well-suited for very elderly people as he likes to be as close as possible to you and this could pose a tripping hazard. Additionally, Charlie is not compatible with children as he is unsure around them and little ones might not understand his needs. Active retirees or someone who works from home or part time would be the best fit for Charlie. He should be able to gradually get used to being left alone but for now he really is not happy being away from people, so does require a home with someone around more often than not.

Charlie walks obediently on a leash and is happy travelling in the car.

This quirky but sweet dog seeks a home where love and attention abound. He has a playful disposition and a fondness for toys.

Adoption fee includes vet check, flea and worm treatment, vaccination, microchip - including the transfer of ownership - and sterilisation.

ADOPTION DETAILS
To apply to adopt, please complete a SAFE Dog Adoption Enquiry Form via our website. You will be advised if your chosen dog is still available and then put in contact with the carer for a chance to ask further questions. If a meet-and-greet is then arranged, we will email the adoption paperwork and payment instructions to you prior to this. Please note payment must be made before adoption trial starts and must be made electronically as we are unable to take cash payment.

Our adoption process includes a two-week trial to ensure your chosen pet is the right fit for your home. After a successful trial period, SAFE Bunbury will arrange transfer of ownership on your new pet's microchip and email copies of their vet records out to you.
