About Ollie
Ollie is a very happy little boy and just loves getting into mischief and playing in the mud!!
Born on 02.11.2023, Ollie is a cute and charming Cavoodle - an extremely popular family pet. Although not a recognised breed - he is a cross between a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a Poodle, cavoodles are loved for their size, sweet nature and their low shedding coat.
Cavoodles thrive on human company and do not need a huge amount of space, although a back yard for them to run around in is a must. They need daily outings for exercise and mental stimulation.
They require regular bathing and grooming to keep their coat in good condition. A professional groom can cost upwards of $80 and requires clipping about every 6-8 weeks.
They will experience a change of coat as they change from puppy to adult - the soft fluffy puppy coat gets replaced by a thicker adult coat and the colour and texture may change. Daily brushing is recommended to avoid mats and knots.
Cavoodles are often referrred to as "hypoallergenic" because they shed very little, which means less allergy-causing dander is released into the air and environment. It should be noted that no breed is 100% hypoallergenic but the cavoodle is less likely to cause an allergic reaction than many other breeds.
Cavoodles are happiest when they have company and attention and are best suited to a home where they will not be left alone for long periods.
Ollie is well socialised, being around his brother and other dogs in foster care and would do well with another dog as a playmate in his new home. He will require secure gates and fencing (colourbond preferred).
Enquiries to adopt Ollie are now being accepted: in the first instance, by an email enquiry only.
Adoption details
The first step is to email Midcoast Dog Rescue Inc. for assessment regarding prospective ownership and pet suitability.
Adoption Application forms must be completed.
A property inspection will be carried out on properties in the Port Macquarie area so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you’ve selected. Proof of home ownership will be required. If renting your home, a letter from the owner’s agent confirming that the pet is allowed will be required.
A 2 week trial period commences on the day of adoption. If, for any reason, the dog is returned to Midcoast Dog Rescue within the trial period, the total adoption fee paid will be refunded.
All Midcoast Dog Rescue animals come desexed, microchipped, vaccinated (up to date), vet checked ,wormed, flea and tick treated.
.......................
Midcoast Dog Rescue Inc. is trying to expand its foster carer network so that we can help more dogs in need. This is a very rewarding experience and suits a variety of people. Some people, for whatever reason, are unable to make a permanent commitment to a dog, a commitment which can last for up to 15 years. Others use the fostering experience as an interim measure before committing to permanently owning a dog. If you think you could be interested in becoming a foster carer, either on a long-term or a short-term basis, and would like more information please contact Nigel on 6584 4992 or Wendy on 6584 7027.
