About Simba
In the heart of bustling BARC, there resides a furry prince named Simba, a three-year-old Black Staffy whose spirited demeanor rivals that of his regal namesake. With a coat as dark as the African night and eyes gleaming with boundless curiosity, Simba reigns supreme as the excitable monarch of his domain.
Simba's days are filled with adventures, his energetic nature making each walk an epic journey through the savannah of suburban streets. Among his loyal subjects, he finds kinship in the form of a fellow canine companion, basking in the joy of dog-friendly hangouts and playgroups, his enthusiasm echoing across the fields of fun.
Yet, beneath his boisterous exterior lies a heart of gold, adorned with the loyalty befitting a true king. Simba's affection knows no bounds, his love for people as vast as the African plains, his devotion unwavering and true.
For those who seek to join his pride, training is key to unlocking the full majesty of Simba's potential. With the guidance of patient hands, he blossoms into the noble beast he was destined to be, embodying the virtues of strength and grace.
In the presence of young cubs, Simba's playful spirit shines brightest, his joy infectious and his presence a source of endless delight. With a smile as radiant as the rising sun, he captures the hearts of all who encounter him, a true embodiment of the timeless spirit of the Lion King.
To book a meet and greet with Simba please phone 5441-2209 or email barcreception@bendigo.vic.gov.au . Due to the high volume of emails received, enquiries with a request for a specific appointment with phone details included will receive a response as priority over generic applications which state they are interested in meeting an animal.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
