About Buck
Introducing Buck!
Buck is a Greyhound born 29th September 2021.
Buck was surrendered to the facility (along with two other Greyhounds), from a Greyhound trainer, however we were told none of them have actually raced before.
Buck's surrender profile states he is house trained, travels well in the car, has shown no signs of separation anxiety when left with other dogs, he is friendly with children & adult strangers, he is good with dogs & can walk on lead.
Buck can be quite timid when meeting new people. When he's around his girls he becomes more confident & will come over for a cuddle and scratch. He is starting to gain more confidence but he will need a patient owner to help him with his nerves.
Buck tested fairly well with other dogs but was overall not fazed by them. His body language completely changed when he was reunited with Lisa & Bindi. He instantly perked up & completely relaxed with them. They did zoomies, laid down & drank together.
While Buck could learn to live on his own, he has always lived with other dogs and gains confidence with them. We feel he would be best suited to having another dog at home. If you have a friendly dog at home we will need to do a meet & greet with them to ensure they get along before going home.
Buck showed no interest in cats & kittens. All of our cat testing is through an enclosure, so these results may vary if a cat is free roaming in front of her.
Buck is untested with pocket pets.
Buck has shown no signs of food aggression since being at the facility, however he has shown signs of separation anxiety. As Buck has always lived with other dogs we believe his anxiety can be rectified by having another dog at home.
Buck's adoption fee is $450 and includes his desexing and lifetime registration.
Buck is also regularly treated for flea and worms and is up to date with his vaccinations.
To enquire more or to meet Buck, please call 0499 900 272 or email ccacfpetadoptions@gmail.com and speak to one of our friendly staff.
Buck is looking forward to meeting you and he is currently located in East Maitland.
Adoption details
If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please contact us on 0499 900 272.
Staff will ask more about your lifestyle and the information you provide will helps us to achieve the best match between the dog or cat and their new home. We will also have certain adoption requirements that have to be approved prior to meeting the animal (eg fencing requirements, no young kids, etc)
Once all of your questions have been answered and adoption requirements met and approved, its time to meet your potential new furbaby. This meet will be conducted at the shelter in the Hunter Valley.
Should you have an existing dog in your life, we will require a meet and greet to ensure that they get along.
The final step (pending agreement by both parties) is the payment of the adoption fee and filling in of associated paperwork for your new furbaby.
Congratulations, you have now saved a life!
