About Taj
Introducing Taj!
Taj is a Staffy x born 29th August 2022.
Taj was brought in to the facility after Dee became aware of her & her dog friend Dexter's living conditions. Dexter was tied up in the backyard with no shelter from the rain, storms or sweltering summer sun. "Lucky" for Taj she had access to underneath the house for protection. Dee got Dexter surrendered immediately so we could get him to safety, then went back a day or so later to have Taj surrendered as well.
Dexter has now found his forever home, so it's time of our beautiful girl to find hers too.
Taj's surrender profile states she has only ever been outside on a chain so she is not house trained. She is friendly with children & adult strangers, dogs & cats. She travels well in the car and can be left alone with no issues. It does state that she needs to be fed separately from other animals as she has food aggression towards them, but not towards humans. It also states that she prefers to have another at home with her.
Taj is an absolute sweetheart who loves human attention & affection. If you kneel or sit in front of her, she will climb on your lap for a cuddle & kiss. We've also noticed that she loves playing with toys.
Taj tested very well with other dogs, both male & female. She is very playful with them, but she can be a little overwhelming for timid dogs as she loves sniffing, licking and being in and around their face. We believe Taj would be suitable to live with other dogs, or she can be a spoilt "only child". If you have a friendly dog at home we will need to do a meet & greet with them to ensure they get along before going home.
Taj seemed unfazed by cats & kittens. All of our cat testing is through an enclosure, so these results may vary if a cat is free roaming in front of her.
Taj shows no interest in caged pocket pets.
Taj has shown no signs of food aggression towards humans since being at the facility, however she has shown signs of separation anxiety. This could be as a result of being chained up her whole life & not having the freedom to move around as she pleases. We believe she will settle in a home environment once she realises she is safe. As she has previously lived with another chained dog, having another dog at home may also help with any anxieties she may have.
Taj's adoption fee is $450 and includes her desexing and lifetime registration.
Taj is also regularly treated for flea and worms and is up to date with her vaccinations.
To enquire more or to meet Taj, please call 0499 900 272 or email ccacfpetadoptions@gmail.com and speak to one of our friendly staff.
Taj is looking forward to meeting you and she is currently located in East Maitland.
Adoption details
If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please contact us on 0499 900 272.
Staff will ask more about your lifestyle and the information you provide will helps us to achieve the best match between the dog or cat and their new home. We will also have certain adoption requirements that have to be approved prior to meeting the animal (eg fencing requirements, no young kids, etc)
Once all of your questions have been answered and adoption requirements met and approved, its time to meet your potential new furbaby. This meet will be conducted at the shelter in the Hunter Valley.
Should you have an existing dog in your life, we will require a meet and greet to ensure that they get along.
The final step (pending agreement by both parties) is the payment of the adoption fee and filling in of associated paperwork for your new furbaby.
Congratulations, you have now saved a life!
