Cricket

Cricket is a sweet, social little man who is looking for a calm, patient owner who is willing to go slowly and help him learn all about the world in his own time. Cricket is vision impaired and understandably can be quite worried in new environments. He is best suited to an adult family or one with teens or older who will understand his impairment. If he is to live with another dog they will need to meet at time of adoption. He would love an owner who will introduce him to new things slowly, using high value (read yummy!!) treats and gentle vocal encouragement to help make things less scary. Cricket is highly scent motivated, so snuffle mats and other food enrichment will be great for him. Once settled in his new home he will enjoy daily walks around his quiet neighbourhood, sniffing new smells as he goes. A safe space of his own eg create or bed, to relax in or to retreat to if feeling overwhelmed, would be perfect for him. Cricket has shown little interest in playing with toys but hopefully when he is feeling safe and settled in his forever home, he will feel brave enough to play!
