About Xander
Meet this beautiful puppy. Xander is a cross between a small terrier and an Australian Cattle Dog (blue heeler). He is very laid back and placid but is getting more active and outgoing as he grows.
He sometimes thinks he's a Terrier, sometimes a blue heeler. He can be quite shy and submissive but is gaining confidence every day as he meets new people and dogs. He knows how to sit for a treat but will need more basic training.
Xander is learning to walk on a lead and is learning well, although he does need to stop often and watch new things, and thinks he has to greet every person he sees, so patience is required. He will need his new humans to continue socialising him with lots of new experiences as often as possible.
He was raised with other dogs and children and loves children. He is polite and friendly with other dogs. Not sure about cats, small pets or chooks although he doesn't pay much attention to the birds in our yard.
Xander travels well in the car. He sleeps quietly in his crate in our bedroom but of course would rather be on our bed. He is learning to chew his own toys and not human belongings. He is mostly house trained but being only a puppy he will need ongoing monitoring with that.
Xander loves being out and about, he likes people watching at cafes and generally having adventures.
Xander's forever home needs to be where he will be an inside/outside dog, continue with his socialising and basic training and have regular walks, but just short walks until his bones have finished growing. This beautiful sweet natured boy will make a gorgeous companion for someone willing to put in the work required in raising a puppy.
Please submit a detailed expression of interest to Dallas.
Medical notes
He seems to have sensitive skin, so will need to be kept away from long grass.
