About Spud - 1 Year Old Staffy X Bulldog (Trial)
Meet the sweetest Mr. Potato Head, Spud. He is bound to melt your heart with his puppy dog eyes, jubbly jowls, or if you’re lucky enough to hear one of his welcome home, or good morning “aroo-roos!”
Spud is approximately one year old (said to be born February 2023) and is a stubby tailed Staffy x Bulldog, he’s about 27kg. Spud loves wrestling with his foster sister Dolly, playing with squeaky balls and catch, having spuddles with his humans, and spending most of the day napping around the house.
Spud is toilet trained, knows how to wait for his food, sit and lie down, and shake for treats :) He has been working hard on walking on lead, and is looking for a committed human who can continue ongoing training in this department.
Spud has come a long way since coming into foster care, however he still can get over-excited when he meets new dogs, and this can be intimidating for them due to his keen-ness. He does not have an aggressive nature, however it is best he keeps his distance from small dogs due to this over-excitement, and lack of awareness of his own size. We’d recommend that Spud’s daily enrichment consists of a walk around the neighbourhood, and enrichment toys available for him to play with. He’s not a off leash dog park guy. Spud is a water baby who loves swimming and playing with water.
Spud would suit an individual or couple who are home a lot (ie works from home or part time), or a family with primary school aged kids or older who spend a fair bit of time at home. If joining a home with another dog, he would be best suited with a medium-large female dog who has a calm temperament but still enjoys a play, and who has already been through their training. He is not suited to a home with cats or pocket pets.
Spud needs a yard to snuffle around in that has secure fences and which has no exit points. He is an inside dog when his humans are home, including bed time.
Spud is in foster care in Maryville, NSW and is available for adoption interstate. Spud’s adoption fee is $400 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms and microchipped.
