About Pop
Meet Pop, the charismatic Black Domestic Shorthair (DSH) feline who's captured hearts with his magnetic personality. At 10 years young, Pop exudes wisdom and charm beyond his years, proving that age is just a number when it comes to love and companionship. Weighing in at 5.84 kilograms, Pop is a connoisseur of fine dining, though he's currently on a mission to trim down his figure with a bit of dietary management - a journey he's embracing with enthusiasm.
Pop's sociable nature extends beyond his fondness for food; he's cat-friendly and would thrive in a home with another feline companion. But don't let his affinity for meals overshadow his love for human company. Pop is a devoted couch buddy, content to lounge beside you or snuggle up in your lap, offering warmth and companionship whenever needed.
When it comes to adopting a furry friend, older cats like Pop have a wealth of advantages. Firstly, their personalities are already well-established, meaning you know exactly what you're getting - in Pop's case, a laid-back, affectionate companion. Additionally, older cats often require less intensive training and tend to be more settled into their routines, making them a great fit for households seeking a low-maintenance pet. Finally, by adopting an older cat like Pop, you're offering a loving home to an animal who may otherwise face challenges finding a forever family, proving that the rewards of adopting a senior pet are immeasurable.
To book a meet and greet with Pop please phone 5441-2209 or email barcreception@bendigo.vic.gov.au . Due to the high volume of emails received, enquiries with a request for a specific appointment with phone details included will receive a response as priority over generic applications which state they are interested in meeting an animal.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
