About Oscar
Yes I really am as cute as you think I am!
I am a teeny tiny little boy who loves a bit of attention and a lot of loving.
My name is Oscar and I am a Maltese x Shih Tzu is 7 years and 3 months old - I know I don't look it - so many people mistake me as a pup still
I also have to tell you my weight - yep a huge 2.9kgs! I know in your head your working out how little that is - it's little!!!
So I'm putting a call out to any early birds looking for a best friend! Do you like to wake up in the morning seeing a smiling face - that will be my face you will see!
I love to wake up in the morning all happy and playful and once I'm a wake I'm more then happy to watch you while you sleep waiting for that eye lash to move knowing that your waking up and then you can see my face 🙂
I will jump on your head (you will hardly feel me) and I will be so excited giving you cuddles and telling you how exciting I am for the day to start but that is how all days should start with lots of love and a smiley face.
So I came into care a little while ago as a really sick little man - I was surrendered to the rescue so I could be saved - and the rescue did that! I spent a few days in hospital but since then I've been as healthy as anything - I have been desexed, up-to-date vaccinations and a good polish and clean for my teeth - got to have a nice smiley face when your this cute!
I am looking for a home where I can be the center of attention - I love to have cuddles, snuggle up against my humans and be apart of their everyday stuff - I'm not a brat I'm just a cutie!
Obviously I would love to be in a home where you either work from home, shift work, retired, stay home parent you get the drift - I love to be with my humans.
I would love to be in a home where I can go in the car with you and go do lunch or brunch or anything equally as fun - I don't have separation anxiety I just love to be with my humans.
According to my foster mum she said I also can do the cutest little dance when you get home after being out.
I love the car but would ask if I could please have a booster seat so I can look out the window and see everything while your driving.
I am good around kids but don't want to be picked up by them and carried unless they know how to carry me properly - I won't say no to my humans carrying me - hey we could even do a sling - just joking
Once I get comfortable in my new home (may take me maybe a day) you will see my cheeky side come out - if treats are left out I will try and run of with the packet (okay maybe drag it across the room as it could be heavy). I love to watch my foster mum sort out the internal fencing at her home and then I squeeze thru it and go visit the other dogs that are on that side of the fence (only in my backyard but)
I love to sleep on the bed with my humans and love to play a little game of wrestle and cuddles before bedtime - my foster mum says I do like a praying mantis stomp with my feet and you can't help but laugh and fall in love with me further
I like to sleep up on the pillow or near you but so small you won't notice and I'm also toilet trained so will take myself out to the toilet if I need too - I currently have steps at the bed but can jump up myself if there isn't one.
I do have a mainly white coat but as my hair grows long you do get to see a bit of apricot to it - just makes me cuter! To keep my coat white and soft and fluffy I do require regularly grooming but I have been told I'm a good boy for that too.
I am currently in care with other size dogs and have no issues with them being there - I'm just not a fan of being squished by them if they are bigger then me - sometimes I work around that and stand on them - they don't really feel it or notice cause I'm so light.
I don't need to be in a home with other dogs as its my humans that interest me so happy to be an only dog, but can also share if there is another dog at the house, I'm just not a huge player with them.
I would also like a couch and a window sill that I can stand on - now I know that is a weird request but I love window sills so I can supervisor my foster dad mowing the lawn, waiting for my foster mum to get home - yeah okay neighbor sticky beak as well.
I love being able to be up on the top of the couch so I can see everything that is going on and not miss out.
I am tiny but absolutely love chicken so maybe we could look at that as being part of my diet (actually any meat I love) and will eat my tiny dry biscuits.
I haven't been around cats and most are probably bigger than me anyways but if a cat shows me their claws there is a chance that with all my 2.9kgs body, I will run away from them!
I'm just such a happy little boy who just wants to spend his days keeping you company so If you enjoy walks outing and scenic car drives and like starting the day with a bang please click the link and apply

Complete the following adoption enquiry link

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 10 day trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $250) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption
AFTER THE TRIAL PERIOD
After the 10 day trial period is completed Paw Prints Canine will send out all relevant paperwork for your new furbaby via email including the transfer of microchip form.
