About Poppy
Pretty Poppy only has two speeds: slow, and goooo! This little agent of chaos is a tornado of fun, she loves to curate collections of oddities about the house for you to find, and will keep your benches neat and tidy (by thieving everything you leave in reach, which is, well, everything when you are a leggy lady!). With a bit of patience and a little "Poppy proofing", the right home is going to fall head over heels for this quirky lady.
While she is her best exuberant, joyful self inside her foster home with a large yard to zoom and play, Poppy struggles out in the big world beyond the fence. She's very excited at first when she sets off on a walk, but then it all gets a bit overwhelming these new sights and sounds and smells; her foster carer notes she is a brave girl who is always willing to try her best and twice a day she'll march herself out of the yard to explore, she sometimes even makes it around the block before looking to zip back to the safety of the house. A confident canine friend might be just the thing to help her overcome these fears, but Poppy is a very energetic and bouncy girl so will need an equally matched playmate in her new home.
A quiet suburb and a large yard would be the makings of Poppy's dream home, somewhere she can stretch her legs and show off her speedy skills, however her zoomies are quite impressive and due to her size and speed it would be best that there not be any small children or elderly people that the loveable boofhead might bowl over when she starts to get going. With the right combination of exercise and enrichment, this bouncy bean will reveal her couch potato side, a lazy Sunday snuggled in front of the TV is definitely within her repertoire once she's settled in.
Poppy is a sweet and affectionate dog, and very easy going with sharing her space and her things. She shows no anxiousness at home and will calmly nap when left alone (after checking if there is anything she might be able to rearrange first, of course, a collector's work is never done).
With her model-like good looks, this little stunner is sure to capture hearts, but underneath that beautiful face is a mischievous sense of fun and sweet nature waiting to be discovered.

Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, some can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour.
As a result we look to rehome dogs into households where they are not left on their own for more than 4 hours per day on a regular basis, without either people or another dog for company. We are happy discuss strategies such as a dog walker or doggy day care. Going to work with you is also a great option
