Yeti is a gorgeous young girl, with a beautiful temperament but somewhat shy personality. Once she warms up to you, she is an incredibly loving pup and you can expect lots of cuddles and affection from her – her carer has had the pleasure of waking up every day with a gentle good morning nudge and kiss.

Yeti also loves a bit of playtime and is always up for a quick game of tag or fetch. When she’s not in her bed or by your side, she can usually be found somewhere in the house keeping herself occupied with a chew toy. Keep your eyes on stray paper or tissue in the house though, because she can be a bit cheeky and is a big fan of tearing those items up (only when you’re not watching though).

She is also a really smart girl, and loves playing with any doggy puzzles that you throw her way. She learns commands fast, but also tends to get distracted very quickly if there are any noises around her at the time.

While in care, Yeti has been sleeping in her bed inside her carer’s bedroom (with an occasional night in the carer's bed). So long as she is near an individual that she trusts, she is generally very happy and well behaved through the night. She is also very good at ensuring that she doesn’t come onto the bed or any furniture (sofa, etc) without prior permission first.

It’s worth noting that she is not fully toilet trained as yet, nor crate trained and has not enjoyed spending time in the crate when attempts have been made. She would be happiest with someone who is willing to let her spend the nights outside of a crate. Her trust tends to retreat quite quickly when she is forced to do something she is uncomfortable with so it’s important that her adopter is quite patient and allows her to take her time opening up, and during training exercises.

Yeti can also be quite nervous about the outside world. She’s become far more confident on walks and is great at walking on leads and stopping at crossings; however, she is very noise sensitive and is still very frightened of cars, trams, motorbikes, etc. This noise sensitivity extends to being easily scared inside the house too (ie, when things drop, the vacuum cleaner, etc). She is quite friendly with people in general however she will need to be given a certain level of space for any introductions which happen in her home as it takes a few hours to get used to newcomers within her ‘safe spaces’. She would also be best suited for an only dog household, until she has an opportunity for more consistent dog socialisation.

Yeti has come a huge way in terms of developing confidence out in the world, but she still has a little bit of a journey left ahead of her. She would flourish with someone who is able to spend a good amount of time at home (WFH situation while she is young is preferred) and provide her with companionship. Her carers hope is to find someone who is able to treat her with a lot of love, kindness, and patience while she acclimatises to the big outside world. It would also be great to see her in a home which has a yard for her to play in as she loves a zoomie every now and then.

It’s been a joy for her foster carer to watch Yeti grow into the beautiful girl that she is, and we are confident that her forever family will love having her.
