About Pancake
Just as delicious as her name suggests, Pancake is one sweet girl!
Pancake is the perfect example of how loyal and resilient dogs are. Even though she ended up just a day away from euthanasia in an overcrowded remote NSW pound, she is the most affectionate girl with the sweetest temperament. You could not ask for a more loving dog. Pancake makes you smile with happiness whenever you look at her.
Pancake made it to safety in foster care with us and has been absolutely flourishing. She weighs a neat 17kg at the moment and is not expected to get much bigger (maybe 20kg when fully grown). For a young dog, she is so easy to have around the house and has been described as a dream foster dog by her carers. She is always up for pats, a cuddle or a belly rub and is welcoming to anyone new to the house. Whilst she is always up for some love with her humans, she will also happily take herself off to her bed to relax. Pancake is very playful and loves playing with a selection of toys or splashing around in her paddling pool. She spends part of her day entertaining herself outside lying on the grass or looking around for any creepy crawlies!
Pancake’s foster carers don’t have another dog, so she can absolutely live as an only dog as long as people are around more often than not during her settling in period. She has proven time and time again to be very dog social and has had many play dates with a range of dogs. She even got to go on a farm holiday with two other dogs, where she was impeccably behaved and enjoyed stretching her legs in the big open paddocks. Pancake can share her new home with other dogs, as long as they were the type of dog who would be happy to have a play and can handle a young dog who’s full of life. Her new owners will need to continue her socialisation with other dogs, preferably in the form of play dates and social walks, to keep her happy.
Coming from a remote area of NSW, meant that Sydney life was all very new to Pancake. She was initially a bit scared of the big wide world, but her carers have done an incredible job of instilling her with confidence and she now handles new environments very well. Pancake absolutely loves her daily walks and is often found at the local cafe getting showered in attention from passers by. Her new owners should expect her confidence to diminish slightly with the transition to a new home, so gentle reintroductions to the big wide world are necessary; however, she is a very adaptable and happy go lucky dog, so it shouldn’t take long for Pancake to get back to her confident self. This young girl has moderate activity levels, so her new home will need to ensure she gets a good outing daily and some playtime at home. Pancake is the type of dog who would love to go adventuring to new places with you.
Pancake is a smart girl and has been learning some basic training and house rules while in foster care. She is generally very respectful around the house and her toilet training is almost complete, but she may have the very occasional accident. Pancake is crate trained, but prefers to sleep on her bed overnight just outside the carers bedroom. She travels well in the car and was a star for her vet appointments. Pancake has been very gentle with children she has met out and about so could share her home with dog savvy children. Her foster carers work from home so she isn’t used to being left alone for long hours, but when they head out, Pancake is somewhere where she can’t get up to any puppy mischief and she is happy to wait there until you get back. Pancake will require a family who will continue her education and reinforce her good manners, which will be a great bonding opportunity.
Pancake will require a dog experienced home where she is allowed inside as part of the family and will have a warm and comfy bed to sleep in inside of a night. This wonderful girl has shown just how resilient and loyal dogs can be. Her neglected days have come to an end, and it is now her time to find the perfect forever family to show her all the good things life has to offer. She is a fun and playful girl, who will make someone the perfect family dog.
If you think you can offer a home that will provide Pancake with the opportunity to experience true family life, what she should have had from the start, then head on over to the Fetching Dogs website and fill out a Dog Adoption Enquiry form as the next step. Please include plenty of details about your previous dog experience and the sort of lifestyle you can offer Pancake.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
