About Hennessy
Hennessy is an absolute sweetheart. She made the big trip to us from a remote NSW pound after she was found as a skinny stray pup wandering the streets alone. Hennessy is a cheeky, bold and fun puppy to have around the home and is sure to make you laugh everyday with her puppy antics. During playtime, she loves her toys and is always up for some fun. When she finishes her game, Hennessy is happy to lie next to her carers so that she can sit back, relax and watch what is going on around her. Here is nothing better then cuddling up with this little girl in the evenings for some quality time full of her being adorable.
Due to her young age, Hennessy is yet to do too much exploring of the big wide world around her. She has been happy to be patted and cuddled by strangers on the couple of excursions she has had, especially if food is involved. However, she will need a family who has the time and patience to provide her with positive exposure and experiences out and about so that she can continue to grow. She can be easily overwhelmed in new situations, so will need support and guidance until she gains her confidence. Her carers have been taking her out and about gradually and she is starting to enjoy her walks and really loves stretching her legs in big open grassy spaces.
Hennessy has begun some basic training while in foster care. She is food motivated and very smart which makes training a breeze. She has now learned how to sit and is learning drop as well as how to walk on a lead. Hennessy will need to continue training activities in her new home to ensure that she develops into a happy and well-mannered adult dog. She has started her toilet training and is completely crate trained at home - she sleeps all night without a peep in there! Hennessy also travels perfectly in the car so will be a great road trip buddy. She will have moderate exercise needs so will need a home who can commit to taking her on a daily walks and other appropriate outings where she can stretch her legs. We expect Hennessy to grow to a medium size, possibly around the 18-22kg mark.
Hennessy has been in foster care as an only dog. We feel her confidence would grow faster in a forever home that has another confident and social adult dog, but she will be fine as an only dog too. In either case, she will need someone home more often than not due to her young age. She has been ok left home alone for a few hours here and there, but does get up to puppy mischief if you give her too much access to things while you’re out. Hennessy was in the pound with multiple dogs and has met some other dogs while in care. She can be a little nervous at first, but warms up very quickly and has lovely doggy etiquette. She will need an owner who can continue to socialise her with other friendly, known dogs preferably in the form of play dates.
We are looking for a dog experienced home for Hennessy where her owners have the knowledge and previous experience in how to train and socialise a puppy appropriately. She should be allowed inside to be with the family and will require a warm comfy bed to sleep on inside at night. Hennessy is better suited to a quieter and more mature home environment, but has been friendly with children she has met, so would be fine to live with kids given they are dog savvy and the environment isn’t too overwhelming for her. Hennessy is only a baby so will be fine to live with other species of animals given appropriate introductions and training. This super sweet little girl is just primed to grow into a stunning and lovely natured adult dog. She will bring a lot of cuteness and love to her new home for sure.
If you would like to make this adorable little girl a part of your family, then please submit a Dog Adoption Enquiry form on the Fetching Dogs website as the first step. Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
