About Toby
**Please note, Cheech is currently only available to meet Monday - Friday**
My name is Cheech, I am an expert at wriggling my way into the hearts of everyone I meet!
I spent time in the behavior department with my wonderful trainer, Jay! I also spent a little bit of time in foster so that I could get some help to work on reducing my stress when left alone. I taught the humans I worked with so much; mostly just that they loved me and that is why I should just stay with them all the time.
We found out that I struggle with changes in routine and that I should only be left alone for around an hour to help me adjust to the world. My new family will need to be super committed to my ongoing training to reduce my level of anxiety.
Because I have so much energy when I am nervous, I can start to panic sometimes as I find being alone very scary and I miss my humans so much.
The humans here used the best calming techniques with me like constructional affection. Wow, who knew training was so relaxing? When I am calm and people are around me, sometimes I just go to sleep on my bed or lay next to you in a chair.
When I first meet you though, I will have so much energy that my whole body wiggles, and my tail will go a million miles an hour. I also give the best grin; my cheeky smile will make you smile and swoon after me!
I like to go to my bed and play with my toys when I want a little space, but I still need to be near you and see you.
I love my walks, sometimes sniffing (it's the best game ever) and sometimes just enjoying the sights.
My new home will need to be with adults only and no other pets, I much prefer to be the center of attention and not have to share my home!
If you are interested in meeting me, come down to the North Melbourne shelter Mon-Fri for a meet and greet. You will not be disappointed, and we know you will
not be able to say no!!
Xoxo Cheech; your little heartstopper!
