About Bobby
Hi! I’m Bobby and I’m looking for a new family to call my own.
Size: Medium
Weight: 23.3kgs
APPLICATION PROCESS APPLIES FOR BOBBY
PLEASE COMPLETE THE BELOW APPLICATION FORM
https://forms.gle/R3qncVWyB3D8yegu7
NOTE: You are unable to meet Bobby until/unless you have been notified that you are a successful applicant. An adoption cannot be approved unless you are able to come to the shelter to meet Bobby in person and bring any dogs you currently have with you.
What I need in my new home:
• Daily walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard
• Further training with basic doggie manners
• To be allowed inside with my family
• I am still a young dog, so I WILL chew things, toilet inside, bark & cry and be destructive. It is up to you to train these behaviours out of me. Please don’t apply for me if you are not willing to put in the effort to train me to grow up to be a well behaved and social dog.
• A doggie playmate would be great, if not then lots of socialising with other dogs
• I like both friendly male and female dogs
• Secure Fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent)
• Lots of toys and mental stimulation
• A diet of good quality dry food to help keep my teeth clean
• Lots of love and attention
• I can be shy at first so I need a family who’ll allow me to grow in confidence in my own time
• Doggy daycare and group socialisation classes would be highly beneficial for me.
• I appeared scared of cats when meeting them at the shelter, a home with a dog savvy cat may be ok
• TRAINING TRAINING TRAINING. It's ESSENTIAL I receive training in all aspects of my life so I can be the best dog I can be when I'm older.
• SOCIALISATION is as important for me as it appears I've led a very sheltered life and can be a bit nervous/shy in new situations. Since being at the shelter I'm becoming much braver though. Taking me to lots of different places, meeting lots of people (children, men, woman etc) and meeting lots of dogs and other animals will help boost my confidence
• Being a young dog I will adapt & learn easily, how I mature will only be a reflection of you & my upbringing.
Things that I don’t want in my new home:
• To be left alone in the backyard without any interaction
• Not to be allowed inside with my family
• Never to go on a walk or rides in the car
• No children due to my resource guarding, its best I go to a home without them so I can learn how to behave when I have a bone or high value treat.
My best features:
• Very playful
• Wiggle butt
• Gentle & placid
• I love attention and having snuggles with my humans
• Happy to hang out with other friendly dogs
• Well mannered
• I walk well on lead for a young doggo but having daily walks should help me improve my lead skills
Where I need to improve / Training required
• I appear to have issues with resource guarding when it comes to my treats, and sometimes my toys. I will need training to help fix and to get rid of this behavior. I will happily give you the toy or treat I am guarding for something of higher value. With commitment and time, we will be able to work on this together. It's also best there is no children at my new home so i can perfect how to behave when I have a treat.
• I will require full basic training as I've had no training experience yet
• I'm learning to walk on the lead at the shelter and am getting much better. I'm still a bit slow and fearful but with lots of practice I should soon look forward to a daily stroll around the neighbourhood
• I am shy at first with new people and in new environments so will require a family who will take their time allowing me to settle in and continue on with my socialization
• I love my food so using it as a positive reward should make my training easier.
