Meet Rocky, a spirited young guy ready to bounce into your life!
About: Rocky is not just any dog; he's the epitome of friendliness, happiness, and outgoing charm. With his confident stance and excitable nature, Rocky is always ready to engage with the world around him.
Rocky is looking for a forever home with individuals who have prior experience owning dogs or with breed-specific knowledge. He thrives in busy and lively environments, making him a perfect fit for families who enjoy an active lifestyle or someone whose always on the go.
With his big puppy energy, he's eager to learn and grow with an understanding and committed owner by his side.
Ideal Home: Rocky's ideal home would be one with ample outdoor space, preferably a house with a large yard and secure fencing. While he enjoys the outdoors, Rocky also appreciates the comforts of indoor living and should have free access to both environments but he’d also feel content being mostly outdoors as well so he can take in the sights & sounds.
Family: Rocky's exuberance makes him best suited for households with older children, preferably aged 10 years and above. While he adores human interaction, his playful nature might be a bit overwhelming for younger kids.
Additionally, Rocky's playful antics can include jumping and play mouthing, which is why ongoing training and supervision are essential.
Furry Friends: During his dog assessment Rocky displayed friendly & social behaviour towards the other dog, but it is apparent that his has no manners, this will need to be worked on before he ventures out to meet other dogs.
As always, we recommend that when introducing your new & existing dogs that it is done slowly & that each dogs boundaries are respected.
He is not recommended to live with cats/pocket pets as he has a high prey drive.
Training & Development: He would benefit from post-adoption training such as at home to cover your basics, group classes to assist him with dog socialisation and one on one with a professional to help curb his enthusiasm for absolutely everything.
Rocky is a food enthusiast who takes treats gently from your hand despite his energetic bouncy nature.
Currently, Rocky is undergoing leash training to master loose leash walking, showing promising progress under the guidance of our dedicated staff.
Rocky already knows basic commands like 'sit' and 'down' and is eagerly learning new ones such as 'bed' and 'crawl.'
We always recommend post-adoption training whether it be at home or with a professional. Training doesn’t have to be a chore – it can be a fun experience for you both, it doesn’t have to take long & is a great way for you to bond with your new pal.
Play: If you love outdoor adventures, Rocky will be your perfect pooch, accompanying you on hikes, runs, or playful romps in the yard.
With his high energy levels, Rocky craves daily walks and engaging play sessions. A commitment to providing him with 30-60 minutes of exercise daily will ensure he remains happy and healthy.
He also enjoys playtime with plush toys, engaging in tug-of-war, and chasing balls. His love for water is evident in his fondness for the shell pool, where he enjoys splashing around.

With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as flawless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories. Most left in the shelter by their owners. The information we receive is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks will surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
So please keep in touch with us after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
