About Lola
Our beautiful Lola has come back into care đ
Her family dynamics have changed so much & it's not fair on her.
Lola has lost her big dog brother - meaning she has lost her confidence đ˘
Lola is a Staffy mix with a loving sensitive nature.
She needs to share her home with another dog - a placid male dog , who will give her more confidence. She is NOT suited as only dog.
Lola is seeking a quieter home, with not many visitors coming & going. She can be cautious around males so will require some patience.
From her previous owner :
She is a soft gentle dog, who likes to be near her people, snuggling on the bed or couch. In saying this she is content enough to be out in the yard when no one is home, mostly sunbaking or sitting in her shell pool. She doesnât bark or whine when left alone, and doesnât fence run or bark too much at passers by.Â
Having to be the âbig dogâ has meant for Lola that anyone new to the house is met with intense barking and a level of anxiety which is hard for her to manage. She feels safe in her crate if there are strangers or new people in the home until well introduced. Some males and children seem to cause much stress.
Lola sleeps in her crate in our bedroom at night. She is very used to her bedtime routine of âtime for bed, out for a wee, straight to her crate waiting for a bedtime treat (smacko)â.
She loves to play with her flirt pole fluffy and enjoys a game of tug. Her word for releasing her tug toy is âOUTâ. Lola walks well enough on a slip lead, however new environments, dog/people distractions and birds can disrupt her focus. She has been on forest walks with âthe pack and Jess Olsenâ and absolutely loves this, particularly muddy water holes. In our previous home we had a large pool where we taught Lola to swim. She certainly wouldnât make it to the Olympic swim team, but loves it. She knows the word âSWIMâ.Â
Lola travels well in the car, seat belted into the back seat, she has been trained to lay down when travelling.
Not suitable with cats đ â
AINB will support Lola with ongoing training.
Adoption details
We list animals for adoption on Pet Rescue as well as on our own Animals-in-Need-Brisbane website. We talk with people who contact about an animal to see what their needs and situation are. Our emphasis is on getting the right animal for the people and the right people for the animal. If everyone's needs are met things usually work out well.
If the situation sounds good we arrange a meeting. If all goes well we let people try the animal out for a couple of weeks to ensure that everyone is happy.
We keep records of all adopters, follow up to ensure all is well and undertake to take back any animal if circumstances change.
