IS MIA THE FETCH BUDDY YOU’VE BEEN LOOKING FOR?
Beautiful Mia is 16 months old, she is a long-legged beauty, taller than your average female. Mia was found as a stray and was never claimed, she was found with hair loss and scarring around her neck, and was in poor condition, one can only imagine what she has been through. Mia has been out of the pound now for 2 months and is well and truly ready to find her forever home.
Mia is a friendly girl that enjoys meeting new people, she will explore her surroundings before eventually coming over to say hello, she is won over with treats but especially likes it when people play fetch with her! Mia is still learning her manners, when she gets excited, she can be a little boisterous and will jump up, she is best suited to a home without small children under the age of 5 as she may accidentally knock them over.
Mia loves to play and can often be found doing zoomies in her yard, self-playing with her toys. Mia enjoys playing fetch, and will do so for hours on end, but she is still working out how to bring the ball back, using the toy switch out method is working, she just loves every toy! Mia is looking for an active family that will take her on daily walks and adventures, she loves to sniff everything whilst out on walks and would LOVE to go on a hike!
Mia is looking for an owner that has German Shepherd experience that will put boundaries in place and commit to training. Mia is still learning her basic commands, whilst she likes a treat, she is more motivated to work for her toys and is picking up skills quickly. Mia will thrive with short, frequent training sessions at home to fine-tune her skills; she pulls very hard on lead, after a while she settles into a nice walk but will need to practise her leash manners and loose lead walking.
Mia is very conflicted with other dogs, she has never liked boisterous dogs, but after a few recent bad experiences, wants to stay away from all others. Mia will bark at other dogs in an effort to tell them to go away, she doesn’t want to socialise with them at all and is best suited as the only pet in her new home. Mia would benefit from ongoing exposure to help her feel comfortable walking past others, but ultimately, she is happiest with her humans and being your one and only. Mia has not been tested with cats or other small pets.
Mia is a water baby, she loves to splash around in her paddling pool and would enjoy having a pool in her new home, adventures to quiet swimming spots where she can chase her ball would be a dream come true for this gorgeous girl! Mia would love nothing more than her very own family to hang out with, whether that be going on adventures, playing fetch, or snuggled up on the couch, she just wants to be included as part of a family that will love her unconditionally.
If you have a ball that needs squeaking, a couch with room for cuddling, and are looking for a goofy, fun-loving, sweetheart… Mia could be the one for you! Adoption details
We offer a 'Foster to Adopt' program. This means that the dog will go to live with their adoptive family for 4 weeks to ensure it is the perfect match for both the dog and new family. After the 4 weeks is complete, if all has gone well, the adoption is formalised and your new doggy companion is officially yours!
If you are interested in adopting from us, we ask that you fill out the Adoption Application form on our website (via the link provided below) with as much detail as possible, including the name of the dog you are interested in.
We do not rehome female dogs to a home where there is an existing female dog. Whilst there are always exceptions, it is generally unwise to have two females together; two males can sort it out, a male and a female can sort it out, but when two females fight, the results can be disastrous. For this reason, following the advice from numerous Veterinary behaviourists, as well as our own experience from the last eight years, we do not rehome females into homes with other female dogs.
All of our dogs are de-sexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea and worm treated
Puppies (2 months to 4 months) - $1000
Puppies (4 to 6 months) - $800
Adolescents (6 months to 1 year) - $700
Mature (1 year to 6 years) - $600
Senior (7 years plus) - $350
