Meet Trappy, your pint sized wonder-hound!
About: This independent yet affectionate dude is the perfect dog for those new to dog ownership and seasoned pet parents alike.
Trappy is the epitome of happiness – always wearing a smile and radiating positivity wherever he goes. His outgoing nature and playfulness make every day an adventure.
Whether he's chasing after a tennis ball or cuddling up with his beloved humans, Trappy's zest for life is truly contagious.
Ideal Home: This sweet boy is as adaptable as they come, fitting in seamlessly into any kind of home, but he would thrive in a calm and quiet home, he's also a great match for active individuals who love spending time outdoors.
Family: With his gentle disposition and affectionate personality, Trappy is a hit with everyone he meets – including kids of all ages!
Plus, he's the perfect choice for those who work part-time or from home, craving nothing more than some quality snuggle time with his favourite humans.
Furry Friends: Trappy is best to be the only dog. His dog assessment showed that he is fine to be walked around other dogs with minimal reactivity from him, but closer up he is very uncomfortable & doesn’t like them.
As we cannot test, we are unsure how Trappy would go living with or meeting cats/pocket pets. This would be up to the direction of his new owners.
Work: He would benefit from post-adoption training, such as training at home to cover your basics. He is still learning his name but will proudly show off his ‘sit’.
We always recommend post-adoption training whether it be at home or with a professional. Training doesn’t have to be a chore – it can be a fun experience for you both, it doesn’t have to take long & is a great way for you to bond with your new pal.
Play: Whether you're hitting the trails or lounging in the backyard, Trappy is always up for some fun in the sun.
Trappy has medium energy needs & would benefit from 20-30mins of exercise/walks per day. He walks ok on a lead but can pull a little. He is best to be walked on a lead & collar.
Medical: Trappy has some hair loss on his back and all of our tests have come back inconclusive. Despite treatment plans it has not grown back. His hair loss may be genetic, or it may grow back at a later date. At the current time we are unsure what is causing it or when/if it will grow back.

With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as flawless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories. Most left in the shelter by their owners. The information we receive is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks will surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
So please keep in touch with us after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
