About Rhychie
Rhychie is a delightful little dog. Weighing in at a whopping 2.2kgs, he is sure to melt your heart with his cuteness and feistiness all bundled in to one tiny bundle of joy!
Although he is tiny, he is not a lap dog and he does not like being picked up. It takes hime a while to trust his humans but once he trusts you he comes up to you for pats and loves soft strokes. He will sit by your side and graciously accept your love and look adoringly in to your eyes. He loves to follow his people around the house and will happily sleep near you if you are working or doing a task. He happily sleeps in his crate all night if he can see you.
He lovvvvvves his little ball and toys. He will happily chase it time and time again if you throw it for him and even bring it back to you and place it in your lap! He also loves his walks and will stay still for you whilst you put on his harness.
Rhychie is pretty much toilet trained in that he will go outside and do his business if you leave the door open. His foster carer takes him out a few times a day and he has not had any accidents in the home.
In his prior home, Rhychie did not live with any other dogs. He has been living with a demure small dog in his foster home. Rhychie has happily lived side by side with his foster brother but is quite independent, not seeking any attention from his foster brother. We believe Rhychie will be best placed in a home with no other pets, or he could also do well with another small dog, as long as the dog is calm and not an in your face dog.
Rhychie lived with a cat for 11 years - sleeping on the same bed at night before she passed away and 2 birds too. He loves other more placid animals but we always recommend slow introductions.
Rhychie can be a little feisty when approached by strangers and because he doesn’t like being handled, we would prefer a home without any young kids.
We know he sounds wonderful! But this little guy is 12 and being an older dog, he does have a few health issues. Please make sure to read the medical notes below!
