About Merlin
Confident cat that will keep you entertained. Super comfortable around other cats, small kids and large dogs. Loves affection.
When Merlin first came to Ark, his family left him behind and he was confused and timid. Shy hiding away in the corner, Merlin has certainly shown us his true colours displaying his bold and vibrant personality.
Looking slightly “oriental” as a breed, he has a “dog” like personality that will love to follow you, flop on you for a pat. Loves being silly, bouncing around and playing games. He detests flies, cockroaches and would most likely be keen to find mice if any are around. If you want to laugh and embrace his playful nature he is the cat for you.
At first he may be shy but he will show confidence towards any cat or dog you introduce to him. The cats he has known at Ark don’t always love his energy but this cat deserves to be loved in the right home.
Did you know black cats are the least adopted cat? Please let’s not have Merlin add to the statistic, he’d love to find a place I can call forever home

Adoption details
Dogs:
(1) The first step is to complete the online adoption application form at https://southerndownsark.com.au/apply-to-adopt/ Please answer all questions and include photos of your yard and fencing.
(2) All applications will be considered by our Adoption Team, following which a "meet and greet" will be offered to the top-ranking applicant.
(3) If the “meet and greet" is successful, the applicant may adopt the dog and take him or her home the same day.
(4) For successful interstate applicants, different arrangements may apply and will be negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
Cats:
If you are interested in one of our cats or kittens, please click on the green "Enquire about ...", button, tell us a bit about yourself and the home you can offer the cat, and one of our volunteers will be in touch.
