About Dolly
Meet Millie!
Sweet Millie has sadly found herself without a home - could you be the one that changes that?
This stunning girl is a little unsure of life and is looking for a compassionate and patient family to build her confidence and show her the ropes. Millie is a little underconfident with most things including handling, other dogs and new people - so would really benefit from someone willing to put in the time and effort to training and counter conditioning. She is a sweetheart that really just wants to please her humans. The staff here at The Lost Dogs' Home describe Millie as "the sweetest girl" and we believe that you will see that too!
At this stage, Millie would need to be the only dog in the home while she continues to work on her skills - at the moment she is not ready to share your affection. Millie would also need ongoing training and counter-conditioning to help her adjust to life with any little people so for this reason we are recommending an adults-only home (16+) as little children may just be a bit too much for her right now.
We recommend that Millie continues on with force-free training so she can learn impulse control and become the perfect little pooch that we know she can be.
Millie is a medium sized dog - but is a breed that has lots of energy. She will need lots of daily enrichment and exercise to ensure she burns of some of her pent-up excitement and continues to stay well balanced. Things like puzzle and treat dispensing toys, daily walks around the neighbourhood and lots of toys to keep her active mind going is highly recommended.
Millie may not be 100% 'perfect' just yet - but she definitely has the ability to get there - she is just looking for that perfect person for her to help her achieve this goal. If you think you may have the dedication and skills to break Millie out of her and show her the life she deserves, come on down to The Lost Dogs' Home - North Melbourne today!
