Meet Ace, this handsome boy has all the qualities you could ask for in a furry friend.
About: Ace's personality shines bright with his outgoing nature, playful spirit, and friendly demeanour. His confidence and affectionate nature make him a pleasure to be around, and his engaging personality will capture your heart from the moment you meet him.
While he may be a wee bit stubborn at times, his eagerness to please shines through, making him a delight to train and spend time with.
Ace is well-suited for someone with previous dog ownership experience who can appreciate his personality.
If you're an active and outdoorsy individual or family seeking a loyal and loving dog, Ace is the one for you. His infectious personality and charming nature will quickly see him become an integral part of your life.
Ideal Home: Ace is adaptable, and he doesn’t care whether you live in a townhouse, house, or farm - as long as there's a medium to large yard with secure fencing for him to explore safely.
Family: While Ace enjoys the company of children of all ages, he may be best suited for homes with older children who can match his enthusiasm for life as he can sometimes be boisterous & may jump when excited.
He’s a great choice for those who work a full-time job too.
Furry Friends: He's open to meeting other dogs, but he may need a bit of guidance in refining his manners, especially when he's overcome with excitement. During his dog assessment he displayed loose body & playful behaviour, he was very receptive of the other dog’s body language & responsive to his handler but was a little intense with excitement.
He would not be suitable to live with cats/pocket pets due to his high prey drive.
As always, we recommend that when introducing your new & existing animals that it is does slowly & that each animals boundaries are respected.
Work: With previous training under his belt, Ace is ready to impress with his obedience and intelligence, and responds to commands like "sit," "shake," and "stay."
And with a bit of additional training, he could be the perfect dog to bring to a social setting; like a café or a picnic. Ace would benefit from post-adoption training such as training at home for mental enrichment & basic obedience or group classes to tighten his dog social skills & manners.
We always recommend post-adoption training whether it be at home or with a professional. Training doesn’t have to be a chore – it can be a fun experience for you both, it doesn’t have to take long & is a great way for you to bond with your new pal.
Play: Despite his enthusiasm for life, his energy needs are low-medium & he would benefit from exercise/walks from 20-60mins a day to keep his body & mind healthy.
He is always up for an adventure, whether it's a hike or a stroll through the park.
Ace walks well on a lead with the occasional pull. He is fine to be walked on a flat collar or martingale & lead.

With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as flawless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories. Most left in the shelter by their owners. The information we receive is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks will surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
So please keep in touch with us after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
The adoption fee for dogs covers C3 vaccination, health check, heartworm testing, desexing, micro-chipping, and registration.
