Meet Bruce, a big, beautiful, friendly guy who’s eager to meet you & become your new bestie!
About: Bruce is a versatile pooch, suitable for both first-time dog owners and experienced ones alike. His calm demeanour makes him an excellent fit for a quiet home environments, but don't let that fool you—he's also up for some outdoor fun for those individuals or families who are active.
This affectionate big softy loves nothing more than belly rubs and spending quality time with his humans.
Bruce is an agreeable, comfortable & friendly dog. His personality is sure to brighten up your days, making every moment with him a good one!
He is a happy with an outgoing & confident nature. He is very social & fond of humans and other dogs alike.
Ideal Home: He is suitable to live in a townhouse, house or farm/acerage with a medium to large yard with secure fencing.
While he will happily entertain himself in the yard, he would love access to indoors as well as he loves spending time with people.
Family: While Bruce adores children, we recommend that kids in the home be 8 years & up as he may not realise his own size and could accidentally knock over younger children with his waggly wiggle butt. However, he's also a gentle giant who loves nothing more than spending time with his human pals.
Bruce is suitable for people who work part time or from home.
Furry Friends: Bruce is open to meet other dogs. During his dog assessment, Bruce showed remarkable social skills, he was a little shy at first, but he quickly warmed up to the other dog and displayed a playful attitude & willingness to interact & socialise.
As we cannot test, we are unsure how Bruce would go living with or meeting cats/pocket pets. This would be up to the direction of his new owners.
As always, we recommend that when introducing your new & existing animals that it is does slowly & that each animals boundaries are respected.
Work: Bruce would benefit from post-adoption training at home to cover your basics & group classes just to ensure that his social skills do not diminish over time & remain top-notch.
Treats are the way to Bruce's heart & a good way to encourage positive training; he'll happily accept treats; quickly, but gently.
We always recommend post-adoption training whether it be at home or with a professional. Training doesn’t have to be a chore – it can be a fun experience for you both, it doesn’t have to take long & is a great way for you to bond with your new pal.
Play: Bruce's energy levels are medium to high so he's seeking an active household that can provide him with daily walks and plenty of playtime. Anywhere from 30-60mins a day will keep him content.
When it comes to walks, Bruce may pull on the leash initially, but he's eager to explore all the sights and smells the world has to offer. A harness or martingale will help keep him in check during your outings.
He's also a fan of chasing tennis balls, although he's still mastering the art of bringing them back!

With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as flawless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories. Most left in the shelter by their owners. The information we receive is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks will surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
So please keep in touch with us after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
The adoption fee for dogs covers C3 vaccination, health check, heartworm testing, desexing, micro-chipping, and registration.
