About Rex
Do you want to share your personal bubble with a wagging tail and wet nose if you said yes to this question, you really need to meet me!!
My name is Rex, and I am a 1 year and 3 weeks old Miniature Dachshund.
My foster mum mumbles regularly about me being a needy pants don't know want she means. Just because I like to be with you, next to you, on your lap, probably even happy to wear your skin (ha ha), just pretty much as close to you as I can. I so don't see what the problem is I'm adorable.
Okay yep, I'm a typical dachshund sorry to stereotype but yes, I will bark at new people, but I do get over it especially if treats are involved - yum!!!!
I can walk on the lead but sometimes get overwhelmed in crowds but let's be honest who likes crowds not me and I am down low in a crowd and some people have big feet!
I'm currently in care with foster siblings of all sizes and I do prefer friends of similar size but as long as my space is respected, I'm all good. Oh my god imagine if you had another dachshund, we could be best friends!!!!!
I do like to snuggle with the foster sibling but on my terms, but much prefer to sleep in with you under the blankets as your own personal hot water bottle!!!!!
I am untested on cats - could honestly go either way but if they were to scratch me, I would probably let the whole house know - I'm dramatic that way!
Obviously being a dramatic dashie I would love someone who works from home, retired, stay home parent, shift worker etc. you get the drift someone at the house more often than not.
I currently hang out with a nearly teenaged boy - he is a bit busy doing his own thing, but I would love a kid that I could snuggle on the couch with but not be carried around etc.
I would be perfectly happy to live inside 24/7 if I could but yeah, I know outside for toilet breaks and zoomies once in a while. I like to play with the others if they are outside, but I won't be the first dog off the couch to play.
If you are looking to never have personal space again and enjoy quite walks and quieter life, please fill in an application can't wait to meet you for cuddles.

Please note - They will not leave for their new homes until they are 12 weeks of age and have been desexed, micro-chipped and vaccinated up to date.

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 10 day trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $250) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption
AFTER THE TRIAL PERIOD
After the 10 day trial period is completed Paw Prints Canine will send out all relevant paperwork for your new furbaby via email including the transfer of microchip form.
