This sweet girl is eagerly awaiting her forever family, and we can't wait to introduce you to her delightful personality.
About: Gentle, affectionate, and sensitive describe Cuddle Pie to a tee. She may be timid at first, but once she warms up to you, she'll shower you with love.
Underneath that initial timidity lies a heart full of affection and a spirit ready to blossom with the right care and understanding. If you've had experience with dogs, especially those with special behavioural traits, you'll be the perfect match for her.
She's best suited to a loving household where her gentle demeanour can truly shine.
Ideal Home: Cuddle Pie thrives in calm and quiet homes, where she can feel safe and secure.
Cuddle Pie is adaptable to various living situations whether you live in an apartment, townhouse, house or farm, As long as the yard has high secure fencing so that she has the freedom to explore both indoors and outdoors safely.
Family: She's open to meeting children aged 8 years and up, as older kids tend to be more understanding of her need for space while she builds her confidence.
She is a great dog for people who work part-time or from home.
Furry Friends: While Cuddle Pie may initially feel a bit hesitant in new environments, her social and playful side quickly emerges once she feels comfortable. She's open to meeting other dogs and has displayed happy, social & playful behaviour during introductions.
As we cannot test how Cuddle Pie would be living with or meeting cats/pocket pets, it would be up to the direction of her new owners.
As always, we recommend that when introducing your new & existing animals that it is does slowly & that each animals boundaries are respected.
Work: Cuddle Pie already knows how to 'sit' and is eager to learn more commands with your guidance. While she may exhibit some gentle jumping for reassurance, she's working diligently on building her confidence and becoming the best furry friend she can be.
Post-adoption training such as at home or group classes would be beneficial for Cuddle Pie to continue her socialisation whilst giving her the confidence she misses.
We always recommend post-adoption training whether it be at home or with a professional. Training doesn’t have to be a chore – it can be a fun experience for you both, it doesn’t have to take long & is a great way for you to bond with your new pal.
Play: Cuddle Pie's energy levels are low to medium, making her the perfect fit for leisurely strolls or relaxed playtime in the yard. A daily walk of 20-30 minutes will keep her body and mind healthy.
While she may need a bit of training with walking, she's a quick learner and responds well to positive reinforcement, especially when treats are involved!
Her preference for human interaction over toys makes her the ultimate cuddle bug, well, Cuddle Pie!
Post-Adoption Life: With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as seamless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories - most are left in the shelter by their owners. The information we have is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks may surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
