This lovable pup is searching for his forever home, and if you're an experienced dog owner or have breed-specific knowledge, Midas could be the perfect addition to your family!
About: With his affectionate nature and endearing personality, Midas is ready to become your best mate!
Midas thrives in calm and quiet environments, making him an ideal dog for those who have a peaceful lifestyle.
However, don't let his preference for serenity fool you – Midas is also a great fit for active and outdoorsy individuals or families.
Although he can be a bit nervous in his kennel, Midas truly shines when he's out and about, enjoying walks or engaging in activities – this is where you’ll get to see his real personality shine through.
Ideal Home: A house or a farm with a medium to large yard and high secure fencing would be ideal for Midas to roam and explore safely.
He'll appreciate having access to both indoors and outdoors, so he can enjoy the best of both worlds.
Family: He's open to meeting children aged 8 years and up, as older kids may better understand his needs and give him the space he requires to thrive & grow.
He is a suitable dog for people that work part-time.
Furry Friends: Midas is open to meet other dogs, he is social and playful with dogs he has met, although he may need some guidance to overcome his anxiety in new situations. At the start he may be a bit alert, but after a while, once he has sussed out the area, his body loosens up and he initiates playful behaviour.
As for cats or pocket pets, it's hard to say how he'll react – so this would be up to his new owners discretion.
As always, we recommend that when introducing your new & existing animals that it is does slowly & that each animals boundaries are respected.
Work: Post-adoption training will be beneficial for Midas to iron out any anxiety kinks and keep his mind active. Being a working breed he loves to work & train. It’s his happy place!
Midas has a soft spot for treats like devon, which he takes gently from your hand, and he's mastered commands like 'sit' and 'shake'.
Midas is incredibly smart and eager to learn more & with a little time and patience, he'll quickly become THE best (and cutest) student.
We always recommend post-adoption training whether it be at home or with a professional. Training doesn’t have to be a chore – it can be a fun experience for you both, it doesn’t have to take long & is a great way for you to bond with your new pal.
Play: Whether it's hiking through the trails or playing fetch in the backyard, Midas is always up for an adventure.
This friendly and smart boy walks like a dream on the lead and responds well to encouraging words.
Post-Adoption Life: With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as seamless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories - most are left in the shelter by their owners. The information we have is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks may surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
